Pressing tool with axial stroke working in opposite directions
A pressing tool for producing a non-detachable pipe connection, including holding means for holding the periphery of at least one first tubular or sleeve-shaped connection element and including sliding means for peripherally holding and axially displacing at least one second tubular or sleeve-shaped connection element. The sliding means is movable along a first axial operating direction towards the holding means to press two interengaging tubular or sleeve-shaped connection elements. The pressing tool easily allows pipe connections to be produced in a more flexible and efficient way in that the sliding means are movable towards the holding means along a second axial operating direction opposite the first axial operating direction to press two interengaging tubular or sleeve-shaped connection elements.
Crimping processes for hose assemblies and hose assemblies produced thereby
Processes for securing a fitting to a hose end, and a hose assembly produced thereby. The fitting has an interior portion, exterior portion, and cavity therebetween. An end of the hose is located within the cavity and compressed between the interior and exterior portions. The exterior portion of the fitting has at least first and second circumferential crimped portions axially spaced apart along the fitting length, and first and second portions of the hose are compressed within the first and second circumferential crimped portions. The exterior portion of the fitting has an annular-shaped bubble portion between the first and second circumferential crimped portions. The bubble portion has a diameter larger than diameters of the first and second circumferential crimped portions, and the hose has a portion radially expanded into an annular-shaped cavity surrounded by the bubble portion as the hose is compressed at the first and second portions thereof.
Handheld pressing device
A handheld pressing device for connecting two work pieces, in particular a pipe and a press fitting by means of a pressing process, has a pressing tool with multiple pressing jaws. The pressing tool is connected to a converter driven by an electric motor. The electric motor and the converter are partly surrounded by a housing. The pressing device has at least one data detecting element, at least one data detecting element being a camera. Furthermore, the camera is used as a data detecting element for documenting pressing processes in a method.
Activation assembly for a press apparatus
A press apparatus includes a press assembly and an activation assembly. The press assembly includes a plurality of dies. The plurality of dies defines a center opening for receiving a work piece. The central opening defines a central longitudinal axis. The activation assembly is adapted to actuate the press assembly. The activation assembly includes a first switch and a second switch. The second switch includes a capacitive touch surface that faces in a direction toward the central longitudinal axis of the press assembly.
CRIMPING TOOL
A crimping tool is described comprising a first crimping member, a second crimping member, at least one intermediate crimping member, a first sliding member and a second sliding member. The free ends of the first crimping member and the second crimping member form an opening of the crimping tool. The first crimping member, the at least one intermediate crimping member, and the second crimping member are sequentially hinged together via connecting devices. The first sliding member is slidably disposed on the free end of the first crimping member. The second sliding member is slidably disposed on the free end of the second crimping member. The first sliding member is adjacent to the second sliding member. The inner sides of the first crimping member, the at least one intermediate crimping member, the second crimping member, the first sliding member, and the second sliding member are formed to be pressed with the workpiece to be crimped. The crimping tool has a simple structure and good crimping performance, so that the workpiece is uniformly stressed and burrs on the workpiece can be reduced.
Apparatus and method for crimping coupling rings
An apparatus and method for crimping coupling rings are provided. The apparatus generally has a lower clamp head and an upper clamp head that may be drawn together by a fastener. The lower and upper clamp heads are designed to receive a first portion and a second portion of a coupling ring, respectively. A first and second post holds the clamp heads adjacent to each other. The upper clamp head is secured to the first post such that the upper clamp head may rotate in a generally circular motion to switch the apparatus from a closed to an open configuration, or vice versa. When the apparatus is placed in a closed configuration, the fastener may be engaged to draw the clamp heads together to increase the compressive force imposed on a coupling ring until the coupling ring becomes crimped.
PIPE PROCESSING TOOL WITH PIPE DEFORMATION MEMBERS
A pipe processing tool that is configured to deform the end of a pipe so that the circumferential shape of the end of the pipe generally matches the circumferential shape of an adjacent pipe end. Matching the circumferential shapes of the pipe ends is advantageous during a pipe attachment process. The pipe processing tool can include a deformation ring with a plurality of pipe deformation members. Each pipe deformation member faces radially inward and is actuatable in a radial direction toward and away from the center of the deformation ring in order to permit engagement with the pipe. Each pipe deformation member is individually and separately actuatable from the other pipe deformation members so that the circumferential shapes of the pipes can be altered by controlling suitable ones of the pipe deformation members.
Pressing tool with switchblade bistable tensioning mechanism
A pressing tool for joining a pipe and a fitting, including two swivel elements for pressing the pipe and the fitting, a receiving region, formed between the swivel elements, for receiving the pipe and the fitting, at least one swivel axis for rotatably mounting the swivel elements, and a tensioning mechanism for pretensioning the pressing tool. The swivel elements can be swivelled towards one another about the at least one swivel axis to press the pipe and the fitting. In a first, closed position, the receiving region is narrower than in a second, open position, of the swivel elements, wherein the swivel elements are pretensioned towards the closed position by the tensioning mechanism. At least one holding device is provided for holding the swivel elements in the open position against the pretensioning force generated by the tensioning mechanism.
Passive conduit or cable modification device
A passive modification device comprising an elongated body extending along a first axis made of a shape memory alloy with a threshold contraction along the first axis at a threshold temperature. The modification device further comprises a passageway extending along a second axis shaped to surround a conduit line extending along the second axis. The modification device further includes a first modifying structure on a first portion of the passageway and a second modifying structure on a second portion of the passageway opposite the first modifying structure. Contraction of the elongated body can cause the first modifying structure and the second modifying structure to move towards each other; where movement of at least one of the first modifying structure or the second modifying structures can be configured to modify the conduit line. The conduit line may comprise mechanical cables, electrical conductors, optical fibers, or brittle portions that readily shatter.
Pressing tool with a drive controlled based on recorded pressing data
A pressing tool for plastically deforming a tubular workpiece, and particularly a fitting is described. The pressing tool comprises pressing jaws, a drive adapted to drive the pressing jaws in order to apply a force to the workpiece, a sensor system which is adapted to record a set of pressing data during a pressing process and a control which is adapted to control the drive based on the recorded set of pressing data. Also described are related methods, pressing jaws and workpieces.
