APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING SECONDARY BATTERY

The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for manufacturing a secondary battery and is directed to providing an apparatus for manufacturing a secondary battery in which a crimping part is formed by bending an end part of a battery can and which has a simple structure and improved operational reliability. To this end, the present disclosure provides an apparatus for manufacturing a secondary battery, which includes: a jig part that moves from an outside of a battery can toward the battery can and presses the battery can to bend inwardly; and a jig pressing part that presses the jig part so that the jig part presses the battery can by moving in a direction intersecting a movement direction of the jig part.

Swage Tool

A swage tool comprises a head assembly with a die block holding a lower swage die and a yoke holding an upper swage die. A detachable power unit includes a piston within a cylinder that applies force for vertical movement. The die block, attached to the piston, moves towards the stationary yoke to cause radial compression between the swage dies. The tool includes a mechanism for determining proper swage performance, tool holding mechanisms that improve operator maneuverability, endplates that lock and unlock the swage dies to the tool without themselves being removed from the tool, and a yoke-locking mechanism allowing selective removal of the yoke from the tool.

DEVICE AND METHOD OF RADIALLY COLLAPSING MEDICAL DEVICES

A device and method of radially collapsing a medical device is disclosed. The device is in the form of an improved crimper which is capable of crimping a medical device. The crimper includes without limitation one or more of, a base plate, a stopper, two side plates, two housing plates with a handle, a plurality of jaws, two guide plates, at least one gear ring and a plurality of gear pins. The jaws, when assembled, collectively form an iris opening. The assembly of the crimper has a central opening through which the iris opening can be accessed. The device to be crimped is introduced in the central opening and held within the iris opening. The crimping is achieved by reducing the size of the iris opening (by moving the jaws simultaneously with respect to each other in synchronized manner) which in turn reduces the diameter of the prosthetic device.

System and methods for determining crimp applications and reporting power tool usage

Systems and methods for reporting usage of a power tool. The power tool comprises a pair of jaws configured to crimp a workpiece, a piston cylinder configured to actuate at least one of the pair of jaws, and a sensor configured to sense operating characteristics associated with a crimping application. An electronic processor connected to the sensor. The electronic processor is configured to receive, from the sensor, one or more characteristic signals, determine, based on the one or more characteristic signals, a first operating characteristic of the power tool, and determine, based on the one or more characteristic signals, a second operating characteristic of the power tool. The electronic processor is configured to determine the crimping application of the power tool based on the first operating characteristic and the second operating characteristic and generate a report indicating the crimping application performed by the power tool.
