Exemplary embodiments of the disclosure may be drawn to a device having a vessel configured to contain a source of lipids and a chamber fluidly connected to an outlet of the vessel. The chamber may contain immobilized lipase positioned within a flow path in the chamber along which the lipids flow when released from the vessel into the chamber. The device may also include an outlet through which the lipids flow after passing through the chamber.

Concealable feeding tube assembly

A concealable feeding tube assembly includes a tube and a removable member. The tube has an insertion portion and a feeding portion respectively at two ends thereof. The feeding portion is configured for insertion into a nasal cavity of a patient and intercommunicates with the insertion portion. The removable member is detachably attached to the tube and is configured to seal the feeding portion. The removable member includes an abutment portion extending beyond a lateral face of the removable member.

Insertion device positioning guidance system and method

There is provided herein a system and a method for an insertion device positioning guidance system comprising: an electromagnetic field generator configured to generate an electromagnetic field covering a treatment area; a plate sensor configured to be positioned within the treatment area in a location defining an orientation of a subject; a reference sensor configured to be positioned, within the treatment area, on the subject's torso, the reference sensor is configured to define a reference coordinate system representing the position and orientation of the subject's torso relative to said field generator; a registration sensor configured to mark at least a first and a second anatomic locations relative to the reference coordinate system; and a processor configured to operate said field generator, read signals obtained from said the plate sensor, said reference sensor and said registration sensor, calculate a position and orientation thereof relative to said field generator, generate a 3D anatomic map representing the torso of the subject and the first and second anatomic locations, said processor is further configured to facilitate visualization on the 3D anatomic map of a position, orientation and/or path of a tip sensor, located in a distal tip section of the insertion device, with respect to the first and second anatomic locations, independent of the subject's movement and independent of deviations in the position and/or orientation of said field generator, thus determination of a successful medical procedure is facilitated.

MEDICAL DISPOSABLE PUMPING SET

A system for feeding and aspirating a patient's stomach may include a feeding bag, a collection bag, and a water source interconnected with each other via a double action piston pump and further connected to a nasogastric tube via the double action piston pump. An exemplary double action piston pump may be utilized for pumping contents of the feeding bag into the patient's stomach, pumping out contents of the patient' s stomach into the collection bag, injecting water from the water source into the patient's stomach.

Device for simple attachment and removal of flow during intubation

An apparatus for selectively coupling a first tube and a second tube allows easy separation and connection of tubing in cases of accidental or forceful removal of the tube. A first connecting member and a second connecting member can be easily connected and disconnected as needed to prevent and allow fluid flow to and from a patient. The apparatus can be applied to prevent the accidental removal of patients undergoing extended treatments involving tubes entering the body in the clinical, geriatric, or other care settings. The apparatus also allows for the purposeful detachment and sealing of tubes entering the body to allow for increased patient mobility.

Enteral safety system and methods

Enteral safety system (ESS) may include syringe having visual indicator such as barrel with measurement marks of a color. Barrel may allow content viewing. ESS may include hub for connecting syringe to enteral set. Hub may have a visual indicator such as being same color as barrel's marks. Enteral tubing or set may have a visual indicator such as a lengthwise stripe same color as barrel's marks. Enteral tubing may allow content viewing. ESS may include an enteral tubing-feeding tube hub for connecting enteral tubing to a feeding tube. This hub may have visual indicator such as same color as barrel's marks. Feeding tube may have visual indicator such as a lengthwise stripe same color as barrel's marks. Feeding tube may allow content viewing. The syringe, syringe-enteral tubing hub, enteral tubing, enteral tubing-feeding tube hub, and feeding tubing are properly connectable by reference to visual indicators such as color matching.

GASTRIC SIZING SYSTEMS INCLUDING INSTRUMENTS FOR USE IN BARIATRIC SURGERY

Systems and methods for effecting bariatric procedures are disclosed. Each system includes an instrument, a control valve and, optionally, a suction controller. The instrument is in the form of an elongated, flexible sizing tube having a distal end portion including a plurality of apertures. The control valve enables suction to be applied to the patient's stomach via the apertures to drain gastric fluids and to bring adjacent portions of the patient's stomach into engagement with the sizing tube to provide a visually perceptible delineation line along which a portion of the stomach may be resected, sealed and tested.
