HYDRATION APPARATUS AND SYSTEM
Systems and devices for providing readily accessible and unassisted oral hydration to a patient or other individual. A hydration system of the present disclosure may include a container for holding a quantity of liquid, a hydration tube extending from the container, and a hydration control valve through which a user may access the liquid by pushing or pressing on a lever. The hydration control valve may be, or be similar to, a pinch valve or bite valve arranged across a tube, such that by opening the valve, water may be permitted to flow through the tube. The valve may be arranged within a valve casing having a hydration tube coupling portion and a mouthpiece.
AUTOMATIC BREASTFEEDING METHOD OF PREMATURE INFANT AND AUTOMATIC BREASTFEEDING MACHINE
An automatic breastfeeding method of a premature infant is disclosed, which includes a preparation stage, an active lactation stage, a passive lactation stage and a rest stage. The invention also provides an automatic breastfeeding machine used for the automatic breastfeeding method of a premature infant, comprising a stomach tube, a lactation supply device, a detector and a control device. According to the invention, a self-sucking ability of the premature infant is trained, normal circulation of a mouth-pharyngeal-gastric-intestinal reflex of the premature infant is realized, and nutritional requirements of the premature infant are ensured in the case of taking differences of the premature infants into account, so that the premature infants have no difference with term infants in care, diet, neurological development and growth and development in the future.
Oral administration coupler
An improved oral administration coupler for delivery of fluids such as medications and nutritional fluids. Example oral administration couplers have a first end with an applicator for oral delivery to an infant, and a second end with a coupling compatible with an enteral fluid delivery syringe. A fluid delivery conduit extends in fluid communication from the first end to the second end, to deliver fluid from the syringe to the infant.
Oral administration coupler for back-of-mouth delivery
An improved oral administration coupler for delivery of fluids such as medications and nutritional fluids. Example oral administration couplers have a first end with an applicator for oral delivery to an infant, and a second end with a coupling compatible with an enteral fluid delivery syringe. A fluid delivery conduit extends in fluid communication from the first end to the second end, to deliver fluid from the syringe to the infant. In some example embodiments, the coupler is configured for back-of-mouth delivery, and can comprise a generally elongate and at least partially flexible tube or straw.
ENTERAL FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM
Disclosed is a system for administrating fluids to a patient, such as an infant. The system comprises a container that defines a drip chamber, a source of nutritive fluid fluidically communicating with the drip chamber, and a tube connecting the drip chamber to the gastric cavity of a patient, the chamber including a membrane that is gas-permeable but that is resistant to fluid passage. The system allows fluids to be introduced to the patient and for gastric gases to be released while they are resistant to the leak and spillage.
Fluid delivery system to airway
A fluid delivery system is provided including an elongated member with a lumen, a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion, wherein the second portion is disposed between the first portion and the third portion. The elongated member is insertable into a patient's mouth such that the second portion is disposed entirely within the patient's mouth while the first portion and third portion extend from a point inside the patient's mouth to a point external the patient's mouth. The fluid delivery system also includes a locking system slidably engaged with the elongated member, the locking system removably engageable with the patient's teeth. Further, the second portion is configured to allow drainage of a fluid from within the lumen to a point external the elongated member.
Oral hydration apparatus
Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for maintaining oral hydration. A device may include a perforated tube, covered by an outer cover made of an absorbent material. The tube may be shaped such that it allows a patient using the device to open and close his or her jaw, without displacement and also to allow other medical devices to be used on the patient simultaneously.
Locking enteral feeding system
A fluid delivery device and system is operable to fluidly couple a pair of fluid delivery conduits. One embodiment includes a fluid delivery device sized to meet ANSI/AAMI ID54:1996(R) 2005 and not mate with ANSI/HIMA MD70.1 or ISO 594/1 and ISO 594/2 standards for intravenous ports and connectors to prevent accidental intravenous delivery of fluids intended for enteral delivery. The system includes at least one of a locking tab and a stop flange configured to not mate with matching connectors not configured to satisfy the enteral feeding standards and not specifically configured to mate with the fluid delivery device.
APPARATUS FOR FLUID DELIVERY AND LACTATION STIMULATION
A supplemental nutrition apparatus is disclosed herein. The supplemental nutrition apparatus may comprise a reservoir coupled to and in fluid communication with a fluid passageway, wherein the fluid passageway is configured to communicate fluid from the reservoir to a fluid passageway outlet, and a support element configured to engage a user, to at least partially support the fluid passageway, and to position the fluid passageway outlet proximate to the user's nipple.
ENTERAL FEEDING TUBE WITH POLYGONAL CONFIGURATION
A tube received, at least in part, by a breastmilk warmer includes a first segment having a first thermal conductivity, a second segment having a second thermal conductivity different from the first thermal conductivity, and a third segment having a third thermal conductivity different from at least one of the first and second thermal conductivities. The first segment is configured to be coupled to a source of fluid. The second segment is fluidly coupled to the first segment and disposed in a labyrinthine manner within a breastmilk warmer. The third segment is fluidly coupled to the second segment and is configured to be coupled to a feeding apparatus. The tube also includes a fluid lumen extending from the first segment through the second segment and to the third segment. The fluid O lumen has a uniform diameter from the first segment to the third segment.
