Nutrition tube connector for sealed nutrition pouch
Disclosed is a connector for connecting a sealed, flexible nutrition pouch to the hydration system of a user's protective mask, that allows the nutrition pouch to remain sealed until the user intends to consume the product inside of the nutrition pouch, enables resealing of the pouch after it has initially been opened, and allows connection of the nutrition pouch to the user's hydration system. The connector comprises a multi-piece body having an inlet end that may be manually attached to the outlet of the nutrition pouch without breaking the seal covering the outlet of the nutrition pouch. The connector likewise has an outlet end configured for attachment to an adapter on the user's fluid delivery system. Upon attachment of the adapter to the outlet of the connector, a piston inside of the connector is pushed toward the outlet of the nutrition pouch and breaks the seal over the outlet of the nutrition pouch, thus forming a flow channel for material in the nutrition pouch to flow through the connector and into the adapter and fluid delivery system for ultimate consumption by the user.
FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM TO AIRWAY
A fluid delivery system is provided including an elongated member with a lumen, a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion, wherein the second portion is disposed between the first portion and the third portion. The elongated member is insertable into a patient's mouth such that the second portion is disposed entirely within the patient's mouth while the first portion and third portion extend from a point inside the patient's mouth to a point external the patient's mouth. The fluid delivery system also includes a locking system slidably engaged with the elongated member, the locking system removably engageable with the patient's teeth. Further, the second portion is configured to allow drainage of a fluid from within the lumen to a point external the elongated member.
BREASTMILK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A system and method for storing, fortifying, tracking, and administering breastmilk to an infant in a neonatal intensive care unit in an automated or semi-automated manner that minimizes manual tasks of NICU caregivers and provides interactive information to guide NICU caregivers though fortification and administration of breastmilk to the intended infant in a manner consistent with feed orders.
Elastomeric enteral feeding pump and filling system
A non-electrically driven enteral feeding pump including an expandable elastomeric bladder is provided. The enteral feeding pump includes a fluid delivery tube. The fluid delivery tube controls flow rate of fluid from the pump. The present invention further describes an enteral feeding pump assembly including the portable enteral feeding pump and a peristaltic pump. The peristaltic pump can be configured to be operatively coupled to the elastomeric bladder of the enteral feeding pump for transferring fluid from a reservoir external to the elastomeric bladder into a chamber of the elastomeric bladder.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR HYDROLYZING FATS
A method of preparing a nutritional composition, the method comprising connecting a first end of a hydrolysis device to a syringe and connecting a second end of the hydrolysis device to an enteral straw, wherein the hydrolysis device comprises lipase; drawing a nutritional composition into the syringe via the enteral straw, wherein the nutritional composition runs through the hydrolysis device in a first direction and the nutritional composition includes triglycerides; replacing the enteral straw with a feeding tube; and expelling the nutritional composition from the syringe through the feeding tube, wherein the nutritional composition runs through the hydrolysis device in a second direction, resulting in a hydrolyzed nutritional composition.

Method for Operating a Feeding System for Feeding a Patient with a Liquid Feed
The present invention relates to a method for operating a feeding system for feeding a patient with a liquid feed, which liquid feed is stored in a reservoir, which reservoir is fluidically connected to a tube which has an inlet end for receiving the liquid feed from the reservoir and an outlet end for dispensing the liquid feed toward the patient and is adapted to convey said liquid feed contained in the reservoir to the patient. In order to reduce the volume of feed contained in the feeding system to be discharged after stopping the pumping device, the present invention provides a method and a feeding system allowing a purging phase ordered by the controller assigned to the pumping device, in which the supply of liquid from the reservoir is stopped and a purging fluid drives liquid feed contained in the tube toward the outlet end and wherein the controller stops the introduction of the purging fluid at the end of the purging phase.
System for detecting position of distal end of medical tube
A tube distal end position detection system (1) includes a light source device (50) that emits light, a hollow tube (10) having a flow path (11) that allows a liquid to flow through, a connector (20) provided at a base end of the tube so as to allow light from the light source device to be incident on an end surface (12) at the base end of the tube, and a light emitting portion (30) provided at the distal end of the tube. Light from the light source device passes through the tube and is emitted from the light emitting portion and transmitted to the body surface.
LIQUID REMOVAL DEVICE WITH ABSORBER DRUM AND RELATED METHODS
A liquid removal device is for removing a liquid from a surface. The liquid removal device includes a chassis comprising a handle and an absorber drum and an extractor drum both rotationally coupled with the chassis. The absorber drum includes a cylinder, where an absorbent layer is positioned on an outer drum surface of the absorber drum. The extractor drum includes a reservoir configured to retain the liquid absorbed from the surface, an outer extractor surface, and a plurality of apertures defined by the outer extractor surface in fluid communication with the reservoir. The extractor drum is movable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, at least a first portion of the plurality of apertures are in contact with the absorbent layer. In the second position, the first portion of the plurality of apertures are not in contact with the absorbent layer.
Elastomeric Enteral Feeding Pump and Filling System
A non-electrically driven enteral feeding pump including an expandable elastomeric bladder is provided. The enteral feeding pump include an elastomeric bladder defining a chamber. The elastomeric bladder defines an initial unexpanded state and a maximum expanded state. The pump also includes an inlet port in fluid communication with the chamber, and an outlet port in fluid communication with the chamber. The pump also includes a first fluid delivery tube in fluid communication with the outlet port.
