High flow enternal connector system
A two-part enteral connector system having first and second parts. The first part has a housing with an internal fluid flow passageway and the housing further includes external thread elements and a tip projection portion. The second part also has a housing with an internal fluid flow passageway and mating internal thread elements and resilient internal sealing surface area such that the first part is threadably engageable with the second part in an ISO 80369-3 thread compatible connection to form a liquid tight sealable engagement between the two parts such that the joined fluid flow passageways provide a high flow fluid flow passageway in excess of the 2.95 mm flow path of the existing ISO 80369-3 enteral small-bore connector flow path.
Feeding tube aperture
A feeding tube aperture supported and aligned with a feeding tube opening in an abdominal wall of a patient, including a base having a first end surface transverse to an axis of the base and a feeding tube, a second opposed end surface, a central feeding tube passage extending between the first and second end surfaces, a plurality of vent passages around the feeding tube passage and extending between the first and second end surfaces, a hollow, cylindrical feeding tube support extension centered on and extending outwardly from the feeding tube passage to support and align the feeding tube aperture, and a plurality of spaced apart resilient spacers extending outwards from the second end surface. The plurality of spaced apart resilient spacers resiliently space the second end surface from the abdominal wall and form a plurality of air passages to allow a flow of air around the abdominal wall and the feeding tube opening.
Medical Device Position Notification System
A medical device position notification system including a negative pressure device. The medical device is configured to be inserted into an orifice of the patient. The negative pressure device provides information related to the position of the medical device in the patient's body and communicates the information in real-time. The negative pressure device may also be coupled to a sensor, processor, and display device and indicates the position of the medical device in the patient's body in real-time.
System and Method for Acoustic Sensing to Verify Proper Nasogastric Tube Placement
A tubing assembly for use with electronic catheter guidance systems is provided and includes a catheter and an acoustic sensor. The catheter extends in a longitudinal direction and has a proximal end and a distal end that define a lumen therebetween. Further, the catheter is configured for placement within a patient's digestive tract. The acoustic sensor can be located within the lumen of the catheter or in a sampling chamber connected to the catheter. The acoustic sensor can communicate with a processor to deliver sound data to a display device. The appearance of random spikes on a frequency versus time spectrogram can indicate placement of the catheter in the digestive tract, while a rhythmic/repetitive pattern on a frequency versus time spectrogram can indicate placement of the catheter in the respiratory tract. A catheter guidance system and method for accurately placing a catheter in the digestive tract are also provided.
Feeding system for gastric tube patients
A feeding system for medical patients comprises a storage assembly, dispensing assembly, and extension set including, in part, a reservoir, a pump, a feeding tube, a check valve and an adapter. The reservoir is configured to hold at least one feeding of nutritional substance. The dispensing assembly is connected to the storage assembly and pumps the at least one feeding of nutritional substance from the reservoir to the feeding tube connected to an outlet of the pump. The check valve unit is connected to a second end of the feeding tube by means of a check valve connection point and is configured to allow the flow of nutritional substance in only one direction. The at least one feeding of nutritional substance is passed through the adapter unit connected to the check valve unit.
Portable enteral feeding platform
Method and apparatus for a portable enteral feeding platform having a telescoping two-piece upright column support which is height adjustable, being pivotally mounted onto a base so that the upright column can be pivoted forwardly onto the base into a storage position. In the upright position, the upright column support is both height adjustable and 360 degrees rotatable at its top where it supports an adjustable clamp wherein the clamp can be rotated 360 degrees and locked in place and wherein the adjustable clamp can be moved toward and away from the upright support column to a user selected position. The adjustable clamp is designed to receive and securely hold a syringe or like feeding tube. An optional base clamp is also provided for securing the base to a table top or like support surface.
MEDICAL FEEDING TUBE BRACKET APPARATUS, AND A METHOD OF MAKING AND USING SAME
The present invention relates generally to a medical feeding rube bracket apparatus, and a method of making and using same. More particularly, the invention encompasses a substantially U-shaped bracket having a base, having two end walls, and where each of the end walls have at least one opening or slot for the passage of a flexible feeding tube, and each of the end walls have a tube holding slot to securely hold the inserted flexible feeding tube. The substantially U-shaped bracket could also have at least one securing clamp secured thereto, which securing clamp could securely hold the substantially U-shaped bracket to another object. The substantially U-shaped bracket could also have at least one feeding tube support member to hold, and support the inserted flexible feeding tube.
Disposable Tubing Set for an Enteral Feeding System
The present specification is directed to systems, devices, and methods of portable enteral pump systems for feeding and/or flushing an ambulatory patient. Embodiments provide an enteral pumping device that may be loaded by a patient from a front and a top side of the pumping device and is therefore more convenient to use. Further, embodiments incorporate a single rotor pump for dual-use purposes of feeding nutrients and flushing fluids to the patient. A pinch valve is placed between the parallel sides of the two tubes to cut off fluid flow when required. At least one sensor is also placed between the rotor pump and an outlet. The sensors are used to detect occlusions and the type of disposables used, among other purposes.
Bariatric device and method
A bariatric device and procedure configured to control the amount of food and nutrients entering a person's duodenum and reduce the weight of the person, in one aspect, comprises a gastrostomy tube having a proximal end and a distal end; a feeding tube assembly, said assembly including a feeding tube having a proximal end and a distal end; a gastrostomy tube anchor for securing the distal end of said gastrostomy tube inside the stomach; and a first feeding tube anchor designed to be expanded after the pyloric sphincter so as to anchor the distal end of said feeding tube in the duodenum.
SELF COLLAPSING FEEDING TUBE WITH CLEANING MECHANISM
The present disclosure describes a delivery device. The delivery device of the present disclosure can include one or more pullout resistors that can anchor the delivery device to the patient's abdomen. The pullout resistors can reduce feeding tube migration. The delivery device can include pullout resistors that anchor the delivery device with the abdomen rather than inflatable bumpers or balloons that can obstruct the intestine. When implanted, the pullout resistors can lie between the small intestine and intraabdominal wall. The pullout resistors can prevent inadvertent retrograde displacement of the delivery device without obstructing the lumen of the intestine. The pullout resistors can be flexible to enable a healthcare professional to apply an external retraction force to remove the delivery device.
