SELF COLLAPSING FEEDING TUBE WITH CLEANING MECHANISM
The present disclosure describes a delivery device. The delivery device of the present disclosure can include one or more pullout resistors that can anchor the delivery device to the patient's abdomen. The pullout resistors can reduce feeding tube migration. The delivery device can include pullout resistors that anchor the delivery device with the abdomen rather than inflatable bumpers or balloons that can obstruct the intestine. When implanted, the pullout resistors can lie between the small intestine and intraabdominal wall. The pullout resistors can prevent inadvertent retrograde displacement of the delivery device without obstructing the lumen of the intestine. The pullout resistors can be flexible to enable a healthcare professional to apply an external retraction force to remove the delivery device.
Male connector
A male connector (1) includes a luer portion (10) connected to the upstream end of a tube (8) used in enteral feeding, and a lock portion (20) that is removably attached to the luer portion. The luer portion (10) includes a tubular male luer (11) in which a channel (17) in communication with the tube (8) is formed. The lock portion (20) has a hollow tubular shape and is open at two ends, and includes female threading (21) that opposes the male luer on the inner circumferential face of the lock portion (20). The male luer (11) is inserted into the lock portion (20). Rotation prevention mechanisms (16, 26) that engage with one another are provided on the luer portion (10) and the lock portion (20) such that the lock portion (20) does not rotate relative to the luer portion (10).
CONNECTOR FOR A GASTROSTOMY DEVICE
A connector for rotatably coupling an enteral feeding solution supply tube to a circular port of a gastrostomy device wherein the connector comprises a fluid conduit having a first end configured for connection with an orifice defined in the circular port to supply the enteral feeding solution to the gastrostomy device, and a second end configured for connection to the enteral feeding solution supply tube, a pair of arms circumferentially arranged around an outer wall of the first end of the fluid conduit, each arm including a first free end and a second free end, wherein the second free end includes a catch configured to releasably engage with a circumferential rim on the circular port, and a flexible bridge connecting each arm to the first end of the fluid conduit and about which the first and second ends of each arm can be pivoted, wherein the connector is couplable to and decouplable from the circular port by pivoting the first and second ends of each arm at the flexible bridge such that the catch on the second free end of each arm is radially displaced into engagement or out of engagement with the rim.
FEEDING SYRINGE HOLDER
In one aspect, a system is provided for administering a formulated food solution. The system includes a syringe body having a collar, a barrel, and at least one protrusion. The system includes a handle configured to be hung on a support and a holder body connected to the handle. The holder body has a central opening sized to receive the syringe body. The holder body includes at least one alignment portion configured to engage at least one protrusion of the syringe body and resist turning of the syringe body in the central opening of the holder body.
ENTERAL FEEDING PUMP AND TUBING SET
An enteral feeding pump is provided for mounting a tubing set. The enteral feeding pump comprises a base having an outer side. A rotor is supported on the outer side of the base for engaging a tube section of a tubing set. A tubing set platform is provided on the outer side of the base and defines a pair of tube retainer locks. At least one tube retainer lock comprises an elongated channel for receiving a tube retainer defined by a retainer body and a pair of laterally opposing retainer tabs, tab rest surfaces located on laterally opposing sides of the channel, and tab retention surfaces spaced from the tab rest surfaces and defining elongated slots extending in a longitudinal direction parallel to the elongated channel. The elongated slots each include an entrance end for receiving a retainer tab and a longitudinally opposing inner end.
Methods, compositions, and devices for supplying dietary fatty acid needs
Nutritional formulas comprising long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFAs) are provided, along with methods and devices for preparing and/or administering nutritional formulas. In some embodiments, a percentage of the LC-PUFAs in the nutritional formula are in the form of monogiycerides and/or free fatty acids. In some embodiments, the nutritional formulas do not comprise added lipase. Also provided are methods for providing nutrition to a subject, methods for improving fat absorption, methods for improving cognitive ability, methods for preventing chronic lung disease, and methods for reducing the length of time a patient requires total parenteral nutrition.
Enteral feeding vestpack for children
An improved system and device combining a vest and backpack for carrying an eternal feeding tube, pump, and nutritional supplements, particularly for children who are mobile but too small for a standard backpack. This vestpack includes straps and chest panels which cooperate for customizable fit to accommodate varying body sizes and treatment demands. The pack fits snuggly and securely holds the stored items against the child's upper torso but vertically spaced from the stoma port, thereby reducing interference and risk of ER visits to have ports reinserted. The straps and chest panels disengage from one another to permit quick and complete removal under any conditions. Transport components of the device include a hanger, milk pouch, tube restraint, and a pump pocket. Caregivers retain access to all functionality of the feeding system even while they are onboard, allowing convenient, everyday use and milk refills even while the backpack is worn.
Systems and methods for tubing delivery
Adapters for a connector assembly for percutaneous tubing are provided. A male adapter (FIG. 22a, 1000) includes a connector fitting (1002) proximate a first end, the connector fitting configured to join to a connector for a tubing system or device, and a male connector (656) proximate a second end. The male connector includes a plug end with a fluid lumen defined therethrough, the plug end having a circumferential groove defined therein to receive a locking extension of a female connector sized to be received within the circumferential groove of the plug end to allow the female connector to rotate relative to and maintain axial engagement with the male connector when the locking extension is received within the groove. An adapter having a female connector (FIG. 24, 1300) is also provided.
NASOGASTRIC TUBE STRUCTURE
A nasogastric tube structure is disclosed which comprises a first tube, a clamping member and a positioning member.
