Liquid-dispensing pacifier
The liquid-dispensing pacifier comprises a nipple, a fluid dispenser, and a guard. The guard prevents the liquid-dispensing pacifier from being swallowed by the baby. The nipple is shaped to resemble a female human teat and provides one or more apertures through which a fluid may exit the nipple from a chamber within the nipple. As non-limiting examples, the fluid may be breast milk or formula. The fluid is introduced into the nipple from the fluid dispenser. The fluid dispenser may be a reservoir or syringe that is coupled to the nipple. Fluid may travel from the reservoir to the chamber in the nipple via a valve or feeding tube. The valve may be opened by sucking action of the baby. The syringe may inject fluid into the chamber through one or more apertures, values, or tubes.
Apparatus Useful for Infant Teething and Suckling
The present invention teaches an apparatus that is simultaneously useful for both teething and suckling. The apparatus includes an article of manufacture including a teething section and a section that simulates a nipple for suckling. The invention takes into account the natural position of the infant's thumb during suckling. In addition, the invention teaches regulating the amount of saliva resting on the teething and sucking apparatus surface. Further still, the invention teaches using an elongated strap to secure the teething and sucking apparatus to the infant's wrist to prevent losing it.
Aromatic pacifier assembly
An aromatic pacifier assembly for an infant gives off a predetermined scent by evaporation of volatile essential oils or similar substances. The aroma may be, for example, mint, menthol or eucalyptus, which may help relieve nasal congestion. The aromatic pacifier assembly is constructed to prevent evaporation of the essential oil before activation, so that the nipple does not become contaminated with a flavor the infant may find unpalatable, and so that the oil is conserved until it is desired to administer it to the infant.
Pacifier Holder
A pacifier holder is comprised of a weighted body that sits on a surface, with an elongated appendage or appendages, and protrusion or protrusions, that extend from a body, in any direction, and serve as a pacifier retaining structure on which the handle of a pacifier or pacifiers, or other groove in a pacifier or pacifiers, can be easily hooked or rested upon, to store a pacifier or pacifiers in a hygienic manner, suspended above a surface, when not in use.
HYGIENIC AND ORTHOTROPIC ORAL DEVICES
A hygienic oral pacification device includes a fluid-filled bladder. The bladder includes a nipple and alveolar ridge-mating flanges. The bladder is dynamically shaped and allows for pressures provided by the suckling child to re-shaping the bladder and flanges. A bite-block extends into the bladder to maintain a fluid path from nipple to flanges. As the child completes the suckling cycle, the bladder nipple is depressed and fluid is forced in the engorging flanges. The flanges thus cover the alveolar ridges and fill the vestibules. Further, a feed-bottle nipple includes an opening skirt to expand and rotate in the buccal vestibule. As the child completes the suckling cycle, the mouth portion is distorted, the skirt extended to provide cleaning, stimulation, and a bumper to deny extensive pronation. The flanges and skirt may be covered with a textured surface, or bristles, that provide mechanical brushing of oral surfaces.
TALKING PACIFIER APPARATUS
A talking pacifier that will serve as an interpreter and an advocate for the vocally challenged, namely infants. The device contains a microprocessor coupled to a speaker for providing short musings that will appear to be delivered by the user of the device. In a preferred embodiment an activation button releases a baby's musings on everything from potty talk to politics.
Apparatus and methods for oral administration of fluids and medical instrumentation
Methods and devices for orally administering fluids and medical instrumentation to individuals for the promotion of health are disclosed. An apparatus is described comprising a cartridge including a cartridge body defining a reservoir and a cartridge spout extending proximally from the cartridge body and terminating at an aperture. A cartridge seal is attached to a proximal tip of the cartridge spout, wherein the cartridge seal hermetically seals the liquid within the cartridge, and wherein the cartridge seal is detachable from the proximal tip of the cartridge spout and permanently coupled to the cartridge at a location distal to the cartridge spout. A proximal cartridge seal portion is positioned proximal to the location of permanent coupling and is moveable away from the cartridge aperture once the cartridge seal is detached from the proximal tip of the cartridge spout.
Custom-made artificial nipple
An artificial nipple is formed of an elastomeric polymer by use of 3D printing after imaging of a mother's breast in an active state of lactation. The artificial nipple used as an attachment to a baby bottle or as the nipple component of a pacifier. Use of an artificial nipple formed in this manner mitigates a problem with nipple confusion, as may otherwise manifest in newborn offspring.
Adaptive audio therapy system
An adaptive audio therapy system which detects and processes one or more individuals' conditions to provide adaptive, continuous audio therapy in real-time. The adaptive audio therapy system generally includes a detection device that is typically in physical contact with an individual, such as a pacifier or steering wheel. The detection device may include sensors to detect various conditions of the individual, such as heart rate, respiration rate, temperature, and the like. A computing device receives and processes the various conditions detected by the sensors. Based on the detected conditions, the computing device provides audio therapy which is adaptive to the condition of the patient and which is continuously adapted in real-time.
Pacifier arome system and method use
A system includes a pacifier, an aroma device secured to the pacifier, and an aroma scented material. The pacifier includes a solid body with a front surface and a back surface; and a nipple secured to and extending from the front surface. The aroma device includes a housing secured to and protruding from the back surface of the body, the housing forming an inner cavity. The an aroma scented material is removably secured within the inner cavity.
