A breathing mask for use in administering inhalable medications to a patient in need of an inhaled drug is provided. The mask disclosed herein is particularly useful for use with very young children. The mask is made from a flexible molded plastic silicone or elastomeric material, and has an anthropometrically/anatomically/ergonomically contoured shape to provide a good seal, a comfortable fit, and minimal dead space within the mask. The airway is aligned with nose. There may be an orifice for use with a soother device to calm a child using the mask. Also provided is a visual flow indicator to provide an indication of the quality of the seal of the mask on the face.

An automatic breastfeeding method of a premature infant is disclosed, which includes a preparation stage, an active lactation stage, a passive lactation stage and a rest stage. The invention also provides an automatic breastfeeding machine used for the automatic breastfeeding method of a premature infant, comprising a stomach tube, a lactation supply device, a detector and a control device. According to the invention, a self-sucking ability of the premature infant is trained, normal circulation of a mouth-pharyngeal-gastric-intestinal reflex of the premature infant is realized, and nutritional requirements of the premature infant are ensured in the case of taking differences of the premature infants into account, so that the premature infants have no difference with term infants in care, diet, neurological development and growth and development in the future.

A pacifier includes a nipple mounted on a mitten, which fits on either the left or right hand of a baby. The nipple extends laterally outwardly from one side edge of the mitten, in a region adjacent the baby's thumb. A strap on the mitten can be tightened to prevent the baby from losing the pacifier when the pacifier is not in the baby's mouth.

A chemical extraction apparatus has absorbent material for absorbing or adsorbing volatile chemicals from a breath of a user. The chemical extraction apparatus is positioned within such that breaths from the user flow over the absorbent material thereby causing volatile chemicals in the breaths to absorb or adsorb into the absorbent material. The invention provides a comfort aid (10) for a baby, toddler, or child, wherein the comfort aid (10) comprises a soother (11) and a fascia (12). The soother comprises a shield (20) and the fascia (12) overlies at least a part of the shield (20). The fascia (12) is configured to grip at least a part of an edge of the shield (20).

An artificial nipple is formed of an elastomeric polymer by use of 3D printing after imaging of a mother's breast in an active state of lactation. The artificial nipple used as an attachment to a baby bottle or as the nipple component of a pacifier. Use of an artificial nipple formed in this manner mitigates a problem with nipple confusion, as may otherwise manifest in newborn offspring.

A pacifier securement device is provided. The pacifier securement device is adapted to secure a pacifier, of any kind, in a fabric-stuffed elongated tube providing a pacifier compartment with a snap closure to hold the pacifier to a proximal end of the tube. The proximal end snaps and unsnaps to allow for replacement and interchangeability as well as removal of the pacifier for washing and keeping the pacifier sanitary. The device is long enough so that the present invention is able to be snapped, zipped, or tucked into the child's clothing, strapped into the buckles of a car seat or stroller, bundled in a blanket, or snuggled by the infant, while keeping the secured pacifier within oral reach.

The invention concerns an apparatus for delivering a gas mixture to the nasal airways of a spontaneously breathing child, the apparatus comprises a soother (11), a body (1) forming a mixing chamber attached to the soother and adapted for positioning over the nostrils of the child, at least one gas delivering hose (2) attached to the body forming the mixing chamber for supplying gas to the mixing chamber, wherein the mixing chamber has access to the surrounding air and is adapted for mixing the supplied gas with the surrounding air in order to provide a gas mixture for nasal inhalation, and wherein the body forming the mixing chamber comprises an edge portion (8) with at least one non-contact section, which is adapted for having no contact with the child when the apparatus is in use thereby providing access from the surrounding air to the mixing chamber.
