A gas delivery conduit adapted for fluidly connecting to a respiratory gases delivery system in a high flow therapy system, the gas delivery conduit includes a first connector adapted for connecting to the respiratory gases delivery system, a second connector adapted for connecting to a fitting of a patient interface, tubing fluidly connecting the first connector to the second connector where the first connector has a gas inlet adapted to receive the supplied respiratory gas, one of electrical contacts and temperature contacts integrated into the first connector. The gas delivery conduit further can include a sensing conduit integrated into the gas delivery conduit, where the first connector of the gas delivery conduit is adapted to allow the user to couple the first connector with the respiratory gases delivery system in a single motion.

The invention comprises a pacifier holding clip at one end of an around-the-neck lanyard. The upper ends to this lanyard will include easily disconnecting means so as to not risk creating any choking hazards. Provided herein are novel instruments for oral engagement with mammals (e.g., toddlers, pets, or people with special needs), such as for relieving infant or toddler sucking stress (e.g., pacifiers, teething rings, and pet toys), which contain an adhesive material positioned in an interior area of the instrument and that allows the instrument to be securely attached to a support device comprising a counter-adhesive material with a strength that maintains the suspended position of the instrument (prevents falling), but also releases to the instrument upon application of a manual physical force (e.g., pull) of the user; as well as related systems and methods.

A method and apparatus can include: a shield; a shaft coupled to the shield; a nipple coupled to the shaft; and a membrane coupled between the shield and the shaft, the membrane providing a retracted configuration creating a storage cavity for the nipple based on the shaft being pulled away from the shield, and the membrane providing an extended configuration with the nipple exposed and extended past the shield based on the shaft being pressed toward the shield and the membrane inverting from the retracted configuration.

One aspect of the present disclosure include a method of utilizing an oro-motor device to activate an audio device, the method includes providing an oro-motor device having a sensor and a nipple; producing a signal when the nipple portion present in an infants mouth when the nipple portion yields a first measured pressure over an age appropriate predetermined threshold applied to the nipple portion by the infant; responsive to the signal, playing an age appropriate audio recording for a predetermined duration on an audio device; and raising the age appropriate predetermined threshold to a raised threshold proportionally to a difference between the first measured pressure application to the nipple portion and the age appropriate predetermined threshold.

A pacifier for cooling of oral tissue including: a nipple having an outer shell forming an outer chamber which is configured to retain a first cooling medium having a freezing temperature below 0 degrees Celsius, an inner shell forming an inner chamber positioned inside the outer chamber and which is configured to retain a second cooling medium having a freezing temperature above the freezing point temperature of the first cooling medium to assist in chilling the first cooling medium; a handle coupled to a proximate end of the nipple; and a shield positioned between the handle and the proximate end of the nipple.

According to a first embodiment, a feeding bottle comprises a vessel, collar, and nipple. The nipple comprises a base portion, a teat portion, an areola portion allowing movement of the teat portion towards and away from the base portion. According to a second embodiment, a feeding bottle comprises a vessel, collar, nipple and handle portion removeably secured to the vessel by the collar. The invention includes a flexible region or regions to provide a more natural feeding by closely mimicking the human breast.

A dual-sided pacifying gum and teeth cleaning device. The pacifying cleaning device is comprised of a U-shaped cleansing portion proceeding in a circular manner between the base of a nipple and a raised lip displacer. The cleansing portion has a pair of walls with sets of bristles, such that the respective sets of bristles generally face each other. As an infant sucks on the pacifying device, the position of the bristles and sucking action result in frictional contact against both the front and back of the infant's teeth, providing improved overall cleaning of teeth and gums.

The human nipple functions for both nutritive and non-nutritive suckling with the only difference that in the first instance nutritive fluid is delivered. The present invention conflates these two suckling devices. A nipple device comprises a first reinforcing member provided at the exterior surface of a nipple portion, and surrounding an interior elastomeric core. A second reinforcing member, such as a mesh reinforcement, can be added to improve bite resistance without compromising stretchiness or compressibility. The nipple device is bite-resistant to guard against biting damage and stretching-to-failure by an infant; and compressible, so forces applied by an infant's tongue will be transmitted (in the case of an artificial feeding teat) through a solid nipple core to compress and shutoff central duct(s) to facilitate swallowing without gagging, or (in the case of a pacifier) to reshape the nipple portion so it conforms to the shape of the infant's oral cavity.
