Apparatus and method for manufacturing blade
An apparatus for manufacturing a blade is provided. The apparatus for manufacturing a blade includes: an arm module including a pressing unit pivoting around a first shaft; a molding module including a molding die pressed by the pressing unit and molding bulk metallic glass (BMG) to a blade; and a drawing module pulling an end portion of the BMG exposed to the outside of the molding die to form an edge of the blade, wherein the drawing module includes a pair of drawing tools pulling one end portion of the BMG in two directions.
METHOD OF MAKING A BENT RAZOR BLADE
A method for making a bent razor blade is disclosed. The method includes: providing an elongated strip of stainless steel that can be 0.076 mm thick; hardening the strip; providing a cutting edge along an edge of the strip and providing coating(s) on the cutting edge. The stainless steel has a carbon content less than 0.60% and preferably between 0.45% and 0.55% by weight. The strip is separated lengthwise into discrete razor blades. The bent portion of the razor blade is then formed using a swivel bending process.

This invention relates to razor blades, and more particularly to laser produced markings on razor blades and processes thereof.
Bent razor blades and manufacturing of such razor blades
A razor blade includes an edge portion with a cutting edge at a first end of the razor blade; a further portion extending from the edge portion to a second end of the razor blade; and a bridge portion attached to a first portion of the further portion, leaving a second portion of the further portion exposed from the first end to the second end. The edge portion is bent relative to the further portion through an angle of at least 40 in a bending zone spaced from the cutting edge. Further, at least the edge portion has a material structure hardened by a first heat treatment, and the bending zone has a locally re-heated structure.
KNIFE AND BLADE
The invention relates to a knife, comprising a blade holder and a blade having a blade plane, wherein the blade is arranged in such a way that the blade is retained in the blade holder at two points spaced apart from each other, i.e., a first point and a second point. In order to compensate hardening distortion that occurs when the blade is hardened, according to the invention the blade is retained in a non-displaceable manner at the first point and displaceably in a displacement direction at the second point with respect to the blade plane, wherein the shortest distance of the displacement direction going through the second point from the first point is greater than zero.
KNIFE AND BLADE
The invention relates to a knife, comprising a blade holder and a blade having a blade plane, wherein the blade is arranged in such a way that the blade is retained in the blade holder at two points spaced apart from each other, i.e., a first point and a second point. In order to compensate hardening distortion that occurs when the blade is hardened, according to the invention the blade is retained in a non-displaceable manner at the first point and displaceably in a displacement direction at the second point with respect to the blade plane, wherein the shortest distance of the displacement direction going through the second point from the first point is greater than zero.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING CUTLERY AND A CUTLERY BLANKING TOOL
The present invention is directed to a method of producing cutlery and a blanking tool to be used in said method of producing cutlery. In the method a sheet metal is placed on a die. The sheet metal is held fixed on the die by means of a holder. In a blanking stroke a punch cooperates with the die to form at least a part of a circumference of a cutlery blank in the sheet metal while the holder holds the sheet metal fixed on the die. Thereafter the sheet metal is released from the die. The blanking tool comprises an upper part in the form of a punch, an intermediate part in the form of a holder and a lower part in the form of a die. The blanking tool further comprises means to move the punch and the holder together as one unit towards the die during a first part of a blanking stroke for the punch. The punching tool comprises means to move the punch in relation to the holder during a second part of the blanking stroke for the punch. The holder abuts the sheet metal placed on the die during said second part of the blanking stroke for the punch.

The present invention is directed to a method of producing cutlery and a blanking tool to be used in said method of producing cutlery. In the method a sheet metal is placed on a die. A method of manufacturing a knife blade for a cutter knife of an agricultural harvesting machine, wherein a substantially disk-shaped blade blank is provided in a providing step, said blade blank having a bottom side extending in a first plane (YZ1) and a top side extending in a second plane (YZ2), wherein a hole connecting the first plane (YZ1) with the second plane (YZ2) is made in the blade blank, wherein in a reshaping step an area of the blade blank surrounding the hole is deformed in such a way that a top contact surface surrounding the hole is formed in a third plane (YZ3), wherein the third plane is more distant from the first plane than the second plane (YZ2) in a normal direction (X) perpendicular to the first plane (YZ1).
