The present disclosure relates to a method for producing a profiled hollow shaft for a telescopic steering shaft of a motor vehicle. A hollow shaft to be machined and a roller forming head having at least one roller are provided. A groove is produced in the hollow shaft by moving the hollow shaft relative to the roller forming head. In order to provide an improved and less expensive method for producing a profiled hollow shaft for a telescopic steering shaft of a motor vehicle, the hollow shaft is moved relative to the roller forming head exclusively in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the hollow shaft. The disclosure also relates to a steering shaft having rolling body raceways.

Method for roll-forming disk carriers or the like and the associated profile roller set

A method for roll-forming disk carriers or the like, which are designed as a pot-shaped sheet metal part having inner and outer teeth, wherein a multitude of cassettes is equidistantly arranged on the circumference of a roll-forming tool, said cassettes having profile rollers arranged in their interior, which roll out the disk carrier to be formed with their outer circumference and thus impart toothing on the disk carrier to be formed, wherein the forming depth of the profile rollers at the disk carrier to be formed is designed in such a way that a narrow, peripheral, self-contained, unformed bridge remains between the inner diameter and the outer diameter of the toothing, wherein the bridge increases the engine-speed strength of the disk carrier as a hoop band cylinder that is integrated into the toothing.

Bending forge rolling

The present invention relates to a forge rolling device (1) for the bending forge rolling of a component (2), in particular of a component blank, having a first forging roll (10) with a first axis of rotation (R), and a second forging roll with a second axis of rotation, wherein each of the forging rolls (10) has, on its surface (11), a forge rolling contour (12) that runs at least partially around its axis of rotation (R), said forge rolling contours (12) corresponding to one another, in order to form a component (2) passed between the forging rolls (10) in a passage direction (D). This forming can be bending with or without cross-sectional change. In this case, the forge rolling contours (12) are configured so as to bend the component (2), passed between the forging rolls (10), in at least one direction transversely to the passage direction (D) of the component (2), at least by means of one subregion (13) of the forge rolling contours (12). The present invention also relates to a method for the bending forge rolling of a component (2) and to a component (2) produced with the method according to the invention.

FRICTIONALLY DAMPED FASTENERS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
20190195264 · 2019-06-27 · ·

A method and system for increasing damping capacity in a mechanical fastener by utilizing dry friction between individual wires of a sheathed rope is disclosed. For metal fasteners, the sheathed rope is inserted loosely into a thick-walled metal tube. The tube is then rolled to reduce the tube diameter, thereby uniformly embedding the rope into the tube material. The tube is then subjected to either cold or hot forming. After forming, the fastener blank may be threaded. For composite or plastic fasteners, the sheathed rope includes insert locators attached to the sheathing. The sheathed rope having the insert locators is placed in the mold cavity prior to the polymerizable material being injected into the mold. Regardless of the embodiment, the resulting fastener has increased damping due to the dry inter-wire friction within the embedded rope which develops between the surfaces of individual wires upon dynamic loading of a fastened joint.
