Pill storage and dispensing systems and methods
A pill-dispensing system includes a base including a first processor and a storage, a container for pills carried by the base, and a dispenser mechanism. A data store includes an authorization code and instructions. A second processor is coupled to the data store, is in communication with the first processor, and is programmed to receive from the first processor a code associated with the container, compare the code to the authorization code, and retrieve and serve the instructions to the first processor upon the code matching the authorization code. The first processor is programmed, upon receiving the instructions from the second processor, to download to the storage the instructions that when executed by the first processor cause the first processor to effectuate a dispensing of pills from the container by the dispenser mechanism.
Personal medical device for administering treatment via mucous membrane
The current pandemic due to Covid-19 stresses the importance of effectively treating highly contagious and deadly infections. The described medical device is meant to help the medical community by enabling them to treat patients more effectively. The delivery mechanism focuses on the mucous membrane. It is noninvasive and easy to use by patients directly. The device is hand-held, with incorporated germicidal UVC lights. It has two chambers connected by an internal application tip. The tip connects to a removable container which can be used with the prescribed treatment/therapy, vaccine, or viral testing fluid/reagent, as needed. Due to its versatility, non-invasive nature and germicidal properties, this device supports rapid response to infectious diseases, such as COVID-19. It may also further promote the development and use of different inoculation and drug techniques and delivery systems by enabling easy administration, via the mucous membrane.
SMART PILL DISPENSER
The invention is related to a smart pill dispenser which is used in a household, on a desktop, by keeping the different types of and different dosed medication inside the container, which provides information to the user in order for the user to take his/her medication in time and in correct doses and which can inform the user interactively communicate with smart devices and such as cell phones, and smart watches.
HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for a healthcare management service are provided.
Medication-dispensing system and method
A system for dispensing a prescription medication in a controlled manner is disclosed. The system may include a prescription vial and a corresponding programmable cap. The cap may include an outer cover having an exit aperture, an inner cover having an entrance aperture, and a transport portion having a chute. The cap may also include a control system having a processor. In accordance with a schedule prescribed by a medical professional and programmed into the control system, the control system may dispense medication by moving the chute of the transport portion out of alignment with the entrance aperture and into alignment with the exit aperture.
SENSORS FOR ORAL DOSAGE FORMS
Apparatus is provided that includes a drug capsule containing an oral drug, and a sensing apparatus that includes a housing and a sensor. The housing is shaped so as to define exactly one hemispherical portion and exactly one cylindrical portion, which together define an internal surface tightly fitted to at least a portion of an external surface of the drug capsule. The sensor includes first and second electrodes, which comprise first and second electrode surfaces, respectively; and circuitry, which (a) is attached to the housing, (b) is electrically coupled to the first and the second electrode surfaces, and (c) is configured to drive a current between the first and the second electrode surfaces. Other embodiments are also described.
REMINDER SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR MEDICATION COMPLIANCE
A reminder system and methods may be configured for medicine regimen compliance and monitoring. Embodiments may include a control device, a medicine container, a medicine identifier, a medicine container input device, a monitoring device and a portable electrical device. The control device, the medicine container input device and the monitoring device may include microprocessors, memories, input devices and output devices. The control device may provide operations including input and compare, by the microprocessor, a prescription and medicine information. The monitoring device may provide operations including compare, by the microprocessor, the medicine identifier of the medicine container and the medicine information. The monitoring device may also provide operations including determining, by the microprocessor, the amount of medication removed from the medicine container. The operations may further include generate, by the output device, an alert in response to the distance exceeding a threshold.
CONTAINER THAT INCLUDES AN IMPROVED DISPENSING MECHANISM
The present disclosure describes a medication container that includes a receptacle having an inner space for holding medications and a main housing coupled with the receptacle for retaining the medications in the inner space. The main housing can have an opening and a movable gate that can selectively open and close the opening. A singulator is located between the inner space of the receptacle and the opening and being shaped to only allow a single item, e.g., a medication item, to pass through the singulator to the opening at a time. The main housing may further have a generally funnel-shaped inner wall that extends a wide end adjacent the inner space of the receptacle to a narrow end adjacent the singulator for guiding the medications towards the singulator during a dispensing operation.
SMART MEDICATION DISPENSER
An aspect of the present disclosure is related to a medication dispensing device that includes a housing with an interior. A plurality of cartridge slots are located in the interior, and each of the cartridge slots includes a drive mechanism. A plurality of cartridges are removably disposed in respective ones of the cartridge slots. Each cartridge includes a stationary hub and a rotational wheel. The stationary hub has a window, and the rotational wheel has a plurality of medication chambers that contain medications. The rotational wheel is disposed in the stationary hub. The drive mechanism of the respective cartridge slot is operably connected with the drive wheel and is configured to rotate the rotational wheel relative to the stationary hub to selectively align the medication chambers with the window to dispense the medications contained in the medication chambers out of the cartridge.
Storage and dispensing devices for administration of oral transmucosal dosage forms
Dispensing devices and systems for oral transmucosal administration of small volume drug dosage forms to the oral mucosa are provided. The dispensing device may be a single dose applicator (SDA), or an electromechanical device comprising a means for patient identification such as a wrist worn RFID tag and annular bidirectional antenna together with a lock-out feature.
