Swaging device and press
A swaging device includes a top die and a bottom die that can move in a vertical direction between an open position and a closed position. Each die includes an inclined surface, and the device further includes swaging elements each having a complementary inclined surface that is in contact with the inclined surface of each die, both in the open position and in the closed position. The swaging elements are arranged opposite one another such that in at least any position other than the open position, they are in contact by certain non-inclined surfaces opposite the complementary inclined surfaces.
Method and apparatus for producing a connecting element
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing a rod- or pipe-shaped intermediate product provided with an end face (106) from a semi-finished connecting element (102) made of metal, in particular an insertion end of a drill or chisel attached in an axially movable manner in the chuck of a hammer drill, the connecting element (100′) having at least one rotary entrainment surface (162, 164) and at least one locking depression (122, 124), the locking depression (122, 124) being preferably embodied as a locking groove, a semi-finished connecting element (102) being provided, the at least one rotary entrainment surface (162, 164) being formed in the semi-finished connecting element (102) by axially forcing the semi-finished connecting element (102) in the direction of the longitudinal axis (136) of the semi-finished connecting element (102) into a longitudinal die opening (204) of a die (202), or being embossed in the semi-finished connecting element (102) by radially applying at least one movable forming body (206), and the at least one locking depression (122, 124) being embossed by radially applying at least one or multiple forming bodies (206) that are movable in the same die (202).
DIE FOR THE MANUFACTURING OF ELONGATE BODIES
A die holder mounts a die to form heads on nails or screws. A top surface of the die includes a groove for longitudinally receiving and holding an elongate body. The die has a recess merging into the groove at one end of the groove to form a nail or screw head. The die is conical for press fit by contact with an inner surface of a bore or hole in the die holder. A top surface of the die is planar to a top surface of the die holder with a bottom surface engaging bottom part of the die holder. The bottom portion of the die has a recess or engaging with a corresponding protrusion die holder fixing an angular orientation of the groove relative to the die holder. Two opposite dies are brought together by two opposite die holders forming the head.
Peripheral Combination Hydraulic Press to Forge and Method of Manufacturing Thereof
A radial forge is provided with variable radial displacement. The forge includes upper and lower frames having upper and lower double acting hydraulically driven rams. The forge also includes a horizontal master gear mounted on a circular thrust bearing to provide rotational freedom. One or more radial hydraulically drive rams are mounted to the master gear. Accordingly, the master gear serves as a gantry for positioning the radial rams. A billet may be centrally located between the inwardly directed radial rams and may be supported by the lower ram. The upper ram is aligned with the lower ram so that actuating the upper ram and/or lower ram compresses the billet between them and forces the billet to flow into and fill radial dies removably affixed to the radial rams.
METHOD OF FORGING OUTER JOINT MEMBER OF CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT
A method is used to forge an outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint. Track grooves of the outer and inner joint members each have an arc-shaped ball raceway center line having a curvature center that is not offset in an axial direction with respect to a joint center. The forging method includes performing ironing by press-fitting a cylindrical portion of one end of a shaft portion of a pre-processing material of the outer joint member including the shaft portion and the cylindrical portion into a die hole of a die while a punch set that is radially expandable and contractable is fitted to an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion. The punch set includes punches and a punch base to guide the punches to enable advancing and retreating. Each of the punches has a pair of forming surfaces for forming the adjacent track grooves.
Forming device and method for forming an inner rim of an annular round blank
A forming device and a method for forming an inner rim of an annular round blank. The forming device has a lower tool with a movable die and an upper tool arranged opposite the lower tool along a working axis A. By means of the die, the annular round blank is moved out of a transport plane T and into a forming position U towards the upper tool and into the interior of a holding sleeve. Subsequently, the inner rim is formed with the aid of a forming tool. After forming, the annular round blank is moved out of the forming position U and back into the transport plane T by means of the lower tool and/or the upper tool. The forming device and the forming method can occur while the round blanks are being fed to an embossing station while being transported by a revolving table.
FORGING TOOL
A forging tool is to forge a workpiece in a cuboidal forging space, and wherein (a): the forging space is formed when the bottom surface of the first die and the bottom surface of the second die are brought into contact with the contact surface of the third die, or (b): the forging space is formed when a first die contact surface provided in the first die and a second die contact surface provided in the second die are brought into contact with each other.
Apparatus and method for manufacturing forged crankshaft
A forged crankshaft manufacturing apparatus processes a forged blank with no flash. The forged blank includes at least one rough crank arm having an excess portion protruding from an outer periphery of a side portion thereof. The manufacturing apparatus includes a first die and a second die paired with each other, a retaining device, and a moving device. The first die and the second die bend or crash the excess portion. The retaining device retains at least one of the rough journals or at least one of the rough pins such that a rough pin decentering direction is perpendicular to a reducing direction in which the first die and the second die apply force for reduction. The moving device supports the retaining device such that the retaining device is movable in the reducing direction.
Apparatus for manufacturing forged crankshaft
An apparatus for manufacturing a forged crankshaft includes a pair of upper and lower dies and a first tool. The pair of dies deforms first excess portions and thereby thickens both side portions of a rough crank arm, in a region near a rough pin adjacent thereto. The first tool is fitted in an open space made in the pair of dies, and is capable of coming into contact with a rough-journal-facing surface of the rough crank arm, except the side portions in the region near the adjacent rough pin. The first pair of dies and the first tool have first guides to guide the first tool from a retracting position to a contacting position. The first guides include a first guide disposed on at least one of an upper surface and a lower surface of the first tool.
