Method for joining at least one component to a second component without preformed hole(s)
A joining method for connecting a first component to a second component without pre-punching. The first component and the second component are positioned relative to one another prior to the connection by an auxiliary joining element, which is joined via a joining device to the components positioned relative to one another. The auxiliary joining element firstly passes through the first component without pre-punching and is then connected to the second component without pre-punching. Before the components are connected by the auxiliary joining element, the first component is thermally pre-treated at the joining area via an electric arc formed between the first component and an electrode of the joining device. A heat-affected zone is formed on the first component in the joining area, and the first component in is weakened or melted in the heat-affected zone.

RIVETING APPARATUS FOR THIN HEAT SINK FIN AND THIN COVER PLATE
A riveting structure for a thin heat sink fin and a thin cover plate is disclosed. The riveting structure includes a plurality of thin heat sink fins and a thin cover plate. The top of each thin heat sink fin is provided with a raised portion, the thin cover plate is formed with a plurality of cover plate riveting holes, and the raised portion is pressed and deformed by a rolling device in a rolling manner to fill the space of a corresponding one of the cover plate riveting holes, thereby fixing the raised portion. It is suitable for a “thin” design, improves the assembly efficiency greatly, reduces the labor cost, and reduces the product defect rate effectively.
CARTRIDGE-TYPE RIVET FEEDING MECHANISM OF FLOW DRILL SCREWING DEVICE
Disclosed is a cartridge-type rivet feeding mechanism of a flow drill screwing device including a rivet box, a magazine for storing rivets from the rivet box, a rivet pulling mechanism including a rivet pulling block, a rivet pulling block guide housing and a linear driving unit connected with the rivet pulling block, a blowing mechanism including a curved connecting tube and a third air inlet, the rivet pulling block is defined with a T-shaped through hole capable of accommodating a rivet and configured for transferring the rivet from the first connecting tube to the second connecting tube. The first air inlet and the second air inlet are both configured for introducing compressed air to push the rivet to move towards the riveter head.
METHOD AND TOOL FOR INSTALLING A FASTENER
A method is provided for installing a fastener into an opening of a structure. The fastener includes a sleeve and a pin threadably received into the sleeve. The method includes inserting the fastener into the opening, grabbing a pintail of the pin, and deforming a tail of the sleeve radially outward relative to a centerline axis of the fastener by automatically displacing the pin longitudinally along the centerline axis relative to the sleeve. The method also includes rotationally shearing the pintail of the pin from a shaft of the pin.

APPARATUS FOR THREADING A TOOL UNIT ONTO AN ELONGATE STRUCTURAL ELEMENT
An apparatus for threading a tool unit onto an elongate structural element. The apparatus has a holding arrangement for holding it on a feed device, a tool unit to be threaded onto the elongate structural element. The tool unit has a tool axis and a vibration unit connected to the tool unit and configured to generate a periodic force in at least one first spatial direction that runs transversely with respect to the tool axis. First and second coupling components, held elastically on one another, are provided. The first coupling component is connected to the holding arrangement, the second coupling component is connected to the tool unit. The vibration unit is operated, during a feed movement of the holding arrangement for threading the tool unit onto the elongate structural element, to add an additional, periodically varying transverse component to a feed force acting on the tool unit.
