Fastener removal tool and method of using same

A tool for removing a fastener head from a fastener includes a body that includes an alignment surface configured to couple substantially flush against a structural surface proximate the fastener head. A blade coupled to the body includes a tip configured to sever the fastener head from the fastener as the blade is moved in a first direction generally parallel to the alignment surface from a first blade position to a second blade position. The tool also includes a force transfer member coupled to the body for movement parallel to a longitudinal axis of the force transfer member. The longitudinal axis is oriented at an acute angle with respect to the first direction. The force transfer member is configured to move the blade from the first blade position to the second blade position in response to an impulse received by the force transfer member.

Detachable double-locking riveting dismounting method and pulling rivet

The invention discloses a detachable double-locking riveting dismounting method and a pulling rivet. A lantern ring comprises a thin-wall hook section, a thick-wall locking section and a lantern ring head with an annular step from front to back. The rivet comprises a rivet head of an annular groove matched with the hook section, a front polish rod section, a knurling section matched with the locking section, a separating groove, a rear polish rod and a tail annular groove section from front to back. Double riveting is used by inserting the rivet and lantern ring from both sides; after riveting, the locking section and knurling section form radial locking, and the hook section is buckled to form axial locking. Simple detaching tools (e.g. front snap ring and center cylinder) are equipped to dismount rivets rapidly.

The present invention relates to a cutting device for use in cutting a collar which is mounted on a bolt in half, the cutting device comprising: a mouth (16) for receiving the portion of the collar (28) to be cut; a pair of jaws (17a, 17b) diametrically opposite one another and located within the mouth (16), each jaw (17a, 17b) being provided with a cutting blade (18), a driver (22) for moving at least one jaw (17a) relative to the other (17b) such that the collar (28) can be cut in half by the action of the jaws (17a, 17b) moving towards one another, and a guard (15) which, in use, prevents the cutting blade (18) from protruding beyond the mouth (16) and damaging a surface adjacent to the collar (28) to be cut in half.

Fastener removal aid devices

A fastener removal aid device for removing a self-locking fastener having a pin with a head and a collar, such as a Hi-Lok fastener, that includes at least one drill opening to receive and position a drill bit and a fastener opening for receiving at least part of the fastener. The fastener opening is designed to fit over either the collar or the pin, and the drill opening then may be centered in axial alignment with the pin, and the drill bit may then drill into either a threaded shaft end or head end of the fastener. Alternatively, the drill opening may be positioned on the sides of the fastener removal aid device to laterally break the fastener, or may also be positioned off-center to drill axially into the collar when the fastener removal aid device is positioned over the collar of the fastener and break the collar.
