Pacifier with Onboard Drop Sensor and Notifications
20200405582 · 2020-12-31 ·

A baby pacifier having a means to sense when it is dropped from an infant's mouth. The invention being comprised of a conventional, flexible pacifier with an onboard drop sensor therein. When the pacifier is dropped and contacts the ground or floor, the device senses the resulting vibration and sends a small audible sound along with a flash from a light emitting diode (LED) to notify the parent it has been dropped. Other embodiments of the invention can include different forms of notifications when they are droppedfor example, some can vibrate; some can activate when hearing a parents voice, a baby's cry, or to clapping. Still other embodiments allow parents to customize their own sound notifications when the device is dropped. An object of the invention is to minimize lost pacifiers by getting a parent's attention when the pacifier falls from an infant's mouth so they can recover it.

SECURE SMART CONTAINER ASSEMBLY, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS

The disclosed systems and methods provide a smart container or bin. A container bin assembly includes a bin body, a latching mechanism, and controller. A method includes receiving, via a communication interface, an authenticated request to access the smart container, actuating an electromechanical latch to disengage a fastening hook, thereby initiating a mechanical movement of an access component to make an internal compartment accessible, outputting, via an audiovisual element, an alert to identify the container, confirming that the electromechanical latch has re-engaged with the fastening hook, thereby securing the internal compartment, determining a change in a local inventory, and updating the local inventory in a non-volatile data store according to the change.

SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH BATTERY COMPATIBILITY VERIFICATION FUNCTIONALITY
20200405313 · 2020-12-31 ·

A surgical instrument is disclosed including a housing assembly including a battery interface configured to releasably retain a battery, a radio-frequency identification scanner positioned at the battery interface, and a control circuit. The radio-frequency identification scanner is configured to receive information from the battery. The control circuit is configured to determine a compatibility of the battery with the surgical instrument based on the information received from the battery.

Adaptive Audio Therapy System
20200405183 · 2020-12-31 ·

An adaptive audio therapy system which detects and processes one or more individuals' conditions to provide adaptive, continuous audio therapy in real-time. The adaptive audio therapy system generally includes a detection device that is typically in physical contact with an individual, such as a pacifier or steering wheel. The detection device may include sensors to detect various conditions of the individual, such as heart rate, respiration rate, temperature, and the like. A computing device receives and processes the various conditions detected by the sensors. Based on the detected conditions, the computing device provides audio therapy which is adaptive to the condition of the patient and which is continuously adapted in real-time.

Smart caps for medication containers
10874587 · 2020-12-29 · ·

A cap for a medication container may include: at least one pressure sensor; an air supplying unit; and a controller. The controller may be configured to: receive a first air pressure measurement form inside the medication container, form the at least one pressure sensor; control the air supply unit to supply air at a predetermined pressure for a predetermined amount of time; receive a second air pressure measurement from inside the medication container, form the at least one pressure sensor; and perform an output operation using the first and second air pressure measurements.

System and method for monitoring intake compliance

A product interaction monitor includes sensors for measuring characteristics related to the product and/or product package or other type of container. The product interaction monitor can be installed in a container cap and used to monitor events associated with the container such as product usage. The product interaction monitor can utilize multiple sensor outputs to increase the accuracy of the detection of the events. The product interaction monitor can be used to estimate product inventory or product usage and communicate information regarding the product and/or product usage to a local display or a remote computer.

Medication-dispensing system and method

A method of dispensing a prescription medication is disclosed. The method may begin with obtaining a medication dispensing system. The system may include a prescription vial and a programmable cap for the prescription vial. The cap may include an outer cover having an exit aperture, an inner cover having an entrance aperture, and a transport portion having a chute. The cap may also include a control system having a processor. The method may include the step of determining, by the processor, that a first waiting period has passed. The control system may then dispense a first portion of the medication. The dispensing may involve sensing that a tablet or capsule of the medication is loaded into the chute and moving, by the control system, the chute of the transport portion out of alignment with the entrance aperture and into alignment with the exit aperture.

Visual analysis pill dispenser

This disclosure provides a visual analytical method of verifying dispensed pills. In a preferred embodiment, a camera captures one or more parameters of each pill as it travels along a dispense path. The camera stores the parameters, and a processor displays the parameters or evaluates whether the parameters are within a threshold limit for the dispensed pill. If the parameter is outside the threshold, the pill or the receptacle is separated and/or removed. If all the parameters are within the threshold, the pill is stored in a receptacle, and the images are processed and archived for future verification. The process is repeated for each pill in the dispenser. The system captures at least one verification image for every pill dispensed into the receptacle.

UTILIZATION OF INFANT ACTIVATED AUDIO PLAYER
20200390659 · 2020-12-17 ·

One aspect of the present disclosure include a method of utilizing an oro-motor device to activate an audio device, the method includes providing an oro-motor device having a sensor and a nipple; producing a signal when the nipple portion present in an infants mouth when the nipple portion yields a first measured pressure over an age appropriate predetermined threshold applied to the nipple portion by the infant; responsive to the signal, playing an age appropriate audio recording for a predetermined duration on an audio device; and raising the age appropriate predetermined threshold to a raised threshold proportionally to a difference between the first measured pressure application to the nipple portion and the age appropriate predetermined threshold.

APPARATUS FOR DISPENSING PILLS
20200390656 · 2020-12-17 ·

A system and method for dispensing a pill. A pill bottle may be coupled with a pill dispensing bottle cap. The pill dispensing bottle cap may comprise a closure system for the pill dispensing bottle cap to the pill bottle. The pill dispensing bottle cap may comprise an interior funnel, an interior pathway, an exterior pathway, an exterior opening, a delivery system, an activation system, and a sensor. The interior funnel may navigate one or more pills towards the interior pathway. The activation system may determine if activation of the delivery system is appropriate. The delivery system may cause a pill to move from the interior pathway to the exterior pathway. The pill may move from the exterior pathway through the exterior opening and exit the pill bottle. The sensor may detect the pill exiting the pill bottle and cause pill information associated with the pill bottle to be updated.
