Cold formed, dual seal anchor and method of making
A cold formed anchor for use in an insulated cavity wall includes a unitary body formed with a driver portion and having large and small diameter portions. The driver portion may be formed with structure for connecting a veneer tie to the anchor. A method of making the cold formed anchor includes cold forming a driver portion and a reduced diameter portion from a blank.
STICK FIT FASTENER RECESS SYSTEM
Various embodiments described herein provide a fastener system having straight walled driving surfaces that provides a reliable stick fit feature, while also improving stability of engagement between the system components. A feature of the new system is to allow stick fit engagement of existing standard straight walled drivers in the new system.
TWO-PIECE HIGH-STRENGTH SCREW
High-strength screw (1), with a head (2) with a tool engagement contour (4), a shank (3) with a free end (5) pointing away from the head (2), a threaded section (6) with a thread (7) being arranged on the shank (3), the thread (7) being formed as a metric ISO thread or inch thread, the head (2) and the shank (3) being designed as materially separate parts, the head (2) having a coupling recess (8) arranged radially inside with an axial force transmission element (9) and a torque transmission element (10), the shank (3) having a coupling element (11) arranged radially outside on its outer circumference with an axial force transmission counter element (12) and a torque transmission counter element (13), the coupling element (11) engaging in the coupling recess (8), the axial force transmission element (9) and the axial force transmission counter element (12) being designed and arranged to positively interlock in such a way that an axial translatory movement of the head (2) relative to the shank (3) in the direction away from the free end (5) of the shank (3) is prevented or will be prevented, in particular non-releasably, and the torque transmission element (10) and the torque transmission counter element (13) being designed and arranged to interlock in such a way that a rotational movement of the head (2) relative to the shank (3) in the tightening direction of the thread (7) is or will be prevented.
Stick fit fastener recess system

A feature of the new system is to allow stick fit engagement of existing standard straight walled drivers in the new system.
Fastener system with stabilizer ribs
Fasteners, drivers, punches, fastener systems, and methods of making fasteners, drivers, punches, and fastener systems are disclosed herein. The fasteners may include a recess having a groove in an inner transition surface. Corresponding drivers may include one or more stabilizing ribs for interfacing with the groove in the fastener recces for providing stability.
Fastener compatible with helical toothed driver
A driver for applying torque to threaded fasteners has a plurality of teeth extending along and projecting outwardly from a longitudinal axis of a body on which the teeth are located. The teeth have a helical twist about the longitudinal axis. Each tooth has an angularly oriented engagement surface which is engageable with similarly angularly oriented surfaces within recesses in the head of a compatible fastener. When the driver engages the recesses torque applied to the driver draws the driver deeper into the recesses as the engagement surfaces react against and slide over the angularly oriented surfaces within the recesses. The torque also causes the fastener to turn and advance or retract depending upon the sense of the torque and the angles of the engagement surfaces and the angles of the surfaces within the recesses. The fastener and its method of manufacture are also disclosed.
Fastener assembly and method
A fastener with a body with a shank, a head adjacent one end of and integral with the shank, and a shoulder adjacent the head, and a separate washer with a through hole received on the shank, bearing on the shoulder and securely fastened to the shank. The body and washer may have an interference fit. The body may be made and the washer attached by cold forming the body with a ring bearing on the washer.
FASTENER SYSTEM WITH STABILIZER RIBS
Fasteners, drivers, punches, fastener systems, and methods of making fasteners, drivers, punches, and fastener systems are disclosed herein. The fasteners, drivers, punches, and fastener systems include, in one example, stabilizing ribs and corresponding recesses.
Lightweight fastener design
An improved fastening device includes a shank portion with a first end and a second end disposed from the first end. The fastening device includes a head portion disposed adjacent the second end of the shank portion The head portion of the fastening device includes a lower perimeter adjacent the second end of the shank portion, an upper perimeter disposed away from the lower perimeter and a body portion extending between the lower perimeter and the upper perimeter. The head portion is configured to engage a standard hex-shaped socket. The lower perimeter of the head portion has a generally hex shape and the upper perimeter has a different shape than the lower perimeter.
