System and method for battery-based control of a locking drug receptacle
A charge adjustment device, located at a residence, includes a container identification module, a charge determination module, and a charge control module. The container identification module is configured to determine a prescription identifier (RX ID) of a cap attached to a container. The charge determination module is configured to establish a connection with a remote data source over a network and, according to the RX ID, obtain information indicating a desired charge amount of a battery of the cap. The charge control module is configured to selectively control additional charge to be supplied to the battery based on the desired charge amount.
Connector for system for closed transfer of fluids
A system for closed transfer of fluids includes a syringe adapter including a cannula having a first end and a second end with the second end positioned within the housing, and a seal arrangement positioned within the housing and movable within the housing with the seal arrangement including a membrane. The system including a second component including a membrane and a locking mechanism. The second component configured to be received by the syringe adapter such that the membrane of the seal arrangement engages the membrane of the second component. The locking mechanism including a biasing member and an engagement member positioned on the biasing member, with the engagement member configured to engage a portion of the housing of the syringe adapter to secure the second component to the syringe adapter when the second component is received by the syringe adapter.
METHODS OF ADMINISTERING ANIONIC CANNABINOID MOLECULES DISSOLVED IN WATER
Various aspects of this patent document relate to methods to administer compositions comprising anionic cannabinoid molecules.
INFUSION SYSTEM
The present invention provides an integrated infusion system having a drug vial container adapted to hold a drug vial, the drug vial container having a drug vial holder element and a holder cap element, wherein the drug vial holder element and the holder cap element are fused together forming a seal; and a chemical indicator inside the drug vial container for sterility verification.
Medication and Identification Information Transfer Apparatus
A medication and identification information transfer system is provided that includes a primary medication container, a secondary medication container, a secondary container label and a medication information transfer apparatus. The medication information transfer apparatus, when coupled to the primary medication container, can transfer information indicative of the contents of the primary medication container to a medication delivery device such as an intelligent injection site. The medication information transfer apparatus has a shape and size enabling it to be connected to an adapter for removal of medication from the primary medication container which enables transfer of the medication to a secondary container while simultaneously transferring information about the medication in the primary medication container to the injection site. In some implementations, the medication injection site can be placed on a fluid delivery line for infusion into a patient. Related apparatus, systems, methods and kits are also disclosed.
RECONSTITUTION DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD
A disposable fluid transfer and mixing device is disclosed and includes an injector support surface for receiving an injection device thereon. A lyophilized drug vial, a diluent vial and a syringe are also attached to the device. The device features fluid passageways and a manual valve that may be manipulated so that the syringe may be used to transfer diluent from the diluent vial to the lyophilized drug vial, for reconstitution of the drug. The valve may also be configured so that the reconstituted drug is transferred from the lyophilized drug vial to the injection device. An automated transfer and mixing device receives an injection device, a lyophilized drug vial and a diluent vial and transfers diluent from the diluent vial to the lyophilized drug vial and shakes or vibrates the lyophilized drug vial to reconstitute the drug. The device then transfers the reconstituted drug from the lyophilized drug vial to the injection device.
System and apparatus for item management
Item-management systems, apparatus, and methods are described, preferably for management of items such as medicaments. In embodiments, an item-management system comprises a container defining plural cells, a docking station configured to receive the container, sources of visible information to indicate the cell(s) into which an item is to be loaded, and at least one controller operable to control the visible information sources to indicate the cell into which the item is to be received.
Packaging, cover film and use of same
A packaging comprising a plastic foil molded part and a cover foil, wherein the plastic foil molded part defines the front side of the packaging and the cover foil defines the back side of the packaging and the cover foil is based on a carrier substrate provided with a semitransparent function layer, wherein the semitransparent function layer is constituted such that the cover foil has a first, visually recognizable color upon viewing in incident light and has a second, visually recognizable color upon viewing in transmitted light.
INTRAVENOUS BAG AND LINE LABEL
A label for use with an intravenous bag having a surface and an interior volume for holding a solution in fluid communication with an intravenous line for dispensing the solution, where the label includes a back layer including an adhesive for securing the label to a surface of the intravenous bag, a front layer with a solution name including a first portion secured to the back layer, the front layer including a second portion removable from the back layer engageable with the intravenous line with the solution name on a first side and a second side. In some constructions, the solution name on the second side is inverted with respect to the solution name on the first side, and the second portion further includes an opening for viewing a portion of the intravenous line when the second portion is engaged with the intravenous line.
MEDICATION HANDLING SAFETY SYSTEM
A method for reducing drug administration errors is provided. The method may include manufacturing a drug with a specified color indicator. The method may include receiving an instruction to dispense a desired medication and dosage. The method may include loading a drug into a dispensing device. The method may include initiating a color spectroscopy sequence. The method may include determining, using color spectroscopy, the class of the loaded drug. The method may include determining whether the class of the loaded drug matches the class of the desired medication and dosage.
