Medicine dispensing system having stair-step dosing indicators
A medicine dispensing device, configured to contain a liquid medicine to be dispensed by the medicine dispensing device and having a plurality of dosing indicia spaced apart from each other around and in relation to a circumference of a surface of the medicine dispensing device, each dosing indicia being of a different height relative to a reference level and corresponding to different dose of the liquid medicine.
PHARMACEUTICAL COUNTING AND PACKAGING DEVICE
One embodiment provides a pharmaceutical counting device (160, 800) including a base portion (810) and a counting tray (830) provided on the base portion (810). The counting tray (830) is tilted about a first axis to empty medications into a first package and tiled above a second axis to empty medications into a second package. The pharmaceutical counting device (160, 800) also includes a camera system (950) to capture images of the counting tray (830), the packages, and a label on the packages. The pharmaceutical counting device (160, 800) verifies whether a correct number and type of medications are received on the counting tray (830).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COMPOUNDING ERROR PREVENTION
A system for dispensing and compounding errors prevention is disclosed. The system for dispensing and compounding errors prevention comprises at least one camera for receiving a real-time image of personnel preparing a prescription; a data storage for storing a medication recipe of a corresponding patient; an identification module for determining an identification tag of a drug from a container of the drug or a physical appearance of the drug; a measurement module for determining an amount of the drug being dispensed by the personnel; a comparison module in communication with the identification module and the measurement module for determining whether the amount of the drug being dispensed by the personnel or the identification tag of the drug match the medication recipe; and an output device for outputting a notification to the personnel.
Systems and methods for fluid delivery manifolds
A fluid delivery manifold system assembled and configured to allow delivery of a single dose of a therapeutic agent (e.g., vaccine, drug, medicament, etc.) from a Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) vial to a patient. The delivery assembly generally includes a modular manifold design consisting of separately constructed components cooperatively arranged and coupled to one another. The modular manifold construction allows for rapid manufacturing reconfigurations of one or more components with minimal costs to create new delivery manifold configurations that meet specific needs (i.e., different modes of delivery depending on agent to be delivered, such as subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, intravenous injection, spray, or droplet delivery).
MULTI-DOSAGE TABLET ARRAY
Described is a multi-dosage array of tablets comprising one or more active substances, the tablets being coated and void of tablet portioning means so as to avoid contact of the tablet constituents upon handling by a user for the provision of a plurality of different dosages of the one or more active substances to a plurality of patients of different weight who are in need of the said one or more active substances, the dosage being dependent on the weight of the respective patient, the array of tablets comprising three or more tablet groups, each tablet group consisting of identical tablets having unique identification means and a unique dosage of the one or more active substances, the said tablets differing from tablets of another group of the array in at least the dosage of the said two or more active substances and in the identification means. Further described are a multi-dosage tablet array system, a medicament dosage comprising a plurality of the tablets of the multi-dosage array of tablets, a dosage comprising a plurality of the tablets of the multi-dosage tablet array, a method of providing a dosage of one or more active substances tailored to the body weight of a patient and a method of providing a tailored dosage of one or more active substances to the body weight of a patient.
DETERMINING CHARACTERISTIC OF BLOOD COMPONENT WITH HANDHELD CAMERA
A characteristic of a blood product in a blood product container is determined. Using a smartphone, an image is acquired of a blood bag or tubing of the blood product container disposed in front of the smartphone. The image is processed using a processing circuit of the smartphone or a remote computer in wireless communication with the smartphone. The processing identifies a characteristic of the blood product from the image. A visual notification is generated on a display of the smartphone of the identified characteristic of the blood product.
System and method for tracking medical expiration dates
An injectable medication tab used to track expiration dates has an informative tab, a release string, an adhesive liner, and a quick release fastener. The informative tab provides visually accessible information about a bottle to which the injectable medication tab is attached. An expiration information portion of the informative tab protrudes from the exterior surface of the bottle after being opened. The adhesive liner is superimposed onto a mounting surface of the informative tab and attaches the informative tab to the bottle. The quick release fastener is a coupling mechanism that connects between an edge of the informative tab and the release string. The release string forms a detachable connection holding the expiration information portion against the bottle until the bottle is opened. Once opened, the expiration information section to protrudes from the bottle until the expiration information is recorded and the medical information portion is adhered to the bottle.
Medicine container, method of assembling the container, and method of dispensing the medicine from the container
A child-resistant medication container assembly that includes a blister card including a plurality of compartments each configured to support a dosage of medication, and a puck including a body portion, a recess that defines a partition wall in the body portion, and a plurality of openings defined in the partition wall. Each opening corresponds to one of the plurality of compartments in the blister card. The assembly further includes a carton including a first wall opposite a second wall. An access opening is defined in the first wall and a plurality of perforations are defined in the second wall. The access opening is sized to provide access to the plurality of compartments, and each perforation corresponds to one of the plurality of compartments in the blister card.
Emergency Medication Dose Device to Provide Error-Free Pediatric Medication Doses.
This invention provides a means by which correct dosages of emergency medication can be provided to children under emergency situations. A color- and size-coded set of cylinders is provided where the colors match the color codes of the Broselow® Pediatric Emergency Tape, a common method by which the proper dosage for child is estimated based on the child's height. Each type of medication in the emergency kit has its own color-coded set of cylinders, such that once emergency medical personnel measure the child and determine which medication to use, all they need to do is grab the correct cylinder based on the color (which has already been determined from the Broselow® measurement). The invention allows emergency medical personnel to safely, efficiently, quickly, and accurately deliver the correct dosage of one or more medications to a child under emergency conditions.
Syringe with visually coded needle hub
A medication delivery device included molded cylindrical barrel having visual marks on the surface of the barrel in the axial direction, a plunger seals the distal opening of the cylindrical barrel, a molded needle hub disposed in the proximal opening of the cylindrical barrel for sealing the needle hub to the barrel. A needle is disposed in the needle hub for communicating liquids by operation of the plunger in the axial direction. The circumferential surface on the flange of the needle hub comprises a colored mark that corresponds to a characteristic of the medication delivery device or its contents.
