Magazines for tactical medicine dispensers
Magazines that include a supporting member such as a strap, rod or chamber and one or preferably a plurality of portable medicament cases that each include a medicament provided in a package. Each case has first and second housing members that are configured to form a medicament package receiving cavity when joined together. The housing members mate together in a sealed configuration that prevents moisture or contaminants from entering into the cavity. The magazines are configured for containing a plurality of medicament cases for administration of medicaments to a group of people. Also included is a method of administering medications to mass casualties of multiple persons that are in need thereof. The medicaments are rapidly disintegratable and can include a dye that stains the person's mouth so that medical personnel can determine who has been treated with the medicament.
Connector for system for closed transfer of fluids
A system for closed transfer of fluids includes a syringe adapter including a cannula having a first end and a second end with the second end positioned within the housing, and a seal arrangement positioned within the housing and movable within the housing with the seal arrangement including a membrane. The system including a second component including a membrane and a locking mechanism. The second component configured to be received by the syringe adapter such that the membrane of the seal arrangement engages the membrane of the second component. The locking mechanism including a biasing member and an engagement member positioned on the biasing member, with the engagement member configured to engage a portion of the housing of the syringe adapter to secure the second component to the syringe adapter when the second component is received by the syringe adapter.
Reconstitution device, system and method
A disposable fluid transfer and mixing device is disclosed and includes an injector support surface for receiving an injection device thereon. A lyophilized drug vial, a diluent vial and a syringe are also attached to the device. The device features fluid passageways and a manual valve that may be manipulated so that the syringe may be used to transfer diluent from the diluent vial to the lyophilized drug vial, for reconstitution of the drug. The valve may also be configured so that the reconstituted drug is transferred from the lyophilized drug vial to the injection device. An automated transfer and mixing device receives an injection device, a lyophilized drug vial and a diluent vial and transfers diluent from the diluent vial to the lyophilized drug vial and shakes or vibrates the lyophilized drug vial to reconstitute the drug. The device then transfers the reconstituted drug from the lyophilized drug vial to the injection device.
Pill dispenser for medications, vitamins and/or dietary supplements
A pill dispenser (10) has a core (12) with outward-facing compartments (14) arranged in rows and layers about a central axis. A first sleeve (22) overlying the core has an elongated slot (24) extending parallel to the central axis, and is rotatable relative to the first sleeve to align the slot with one of the rows of compartments. A second sleeve (26), coaxial with the first sleeve, has a pattern of staggered openings 28 positioned in an axial direction to align with a corresponding one of the layers. The second sleeve is rotatable relative to the first sleeve to bring each of the staggered openings into alignment with the elongated slot, thereby providing access to one of the compartments of the core. Preferably, the core includes a number of axially removable cartridges (30), each including a row of compartments, that can be inserted while the compartments contain pills.
System and apparatus for item management
Item-management systems, apparatus, and methods are described, preferably for management of items such as medicaments. In embodiments, an item-management system comprises a container defining plural cells, a docking station configured to receive the container, sources of visible information to indicate the cell(s) into which an item is to be loaded, and at least one controller operable to control the visible information sources to indicate the cell into which the item is to be received.
Liquid receptacle for a pumping apparatus
Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and devices for collecting a fluid for use in connection with a fluid pumping device such as a breast pump. A fluid collection receptacle includes a rigid connector attached to the fluid collection receptacle. The rigid connector is connectable to a breast pump manifold. The fluid collection receptacle further includes a liquid tight seal in the fluid collection receptacle. The fluid collection receptacle may be constructed of a flexible plastic.
System and method for making personalized individual unit doses containing pharmaceutical actives
Systems and methods for making and delivering personalized, medically prescribed pharmaceuticals to an individual patient are described. Individual unit doses (IUDs) of medicine may be prepared specific to the individual in need of same, by using a system, which includes a networked control system in combination with manufacturing assemblies specific to the IUDs and delivering the medicine to the patient directly from the manufacturer.
Medication and identification information transfer apparatus
A medication and identification information transfer system is provided that includes a primary medication container, a secondary medication container, a secondary container label and a medication information transfer apparatus. The medication information transfer apparatus, when coupled to the primary medication container, can transfer information indicative of the contents of the primary medication container to a medication delivery device such as an intelligent injection site. The medication information transfer apparatus has a shape and size enabling it to be connected to an adapter for removal of medication from the primary medication container which enables transfer of the medication to a secondary container while simultaneously transferring information about the medication in the primary medication container to the injection site. In some implementations, the medication injection site can be placed on a fluid delivery line for infusion into a patient. Related apparatus, systems, methods and kits are also disclosed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEDICATION COMPLIANCE
A system for a device for maintaining medication compliance. The device includes a tray base having a plurality of recesses aligned in a plurality of rows and columns and a tray drawer disposed within a hollow portion of and slideably coupled to the tray base. The device includes a plurality of pill compartments coupled to the tray base in a plurality of corresponding recesses. The pill compartments have a lid disposed on the top portion of pill compartment, rotatably coupled to the back wall and releaseably coupled to the front wall. The pill compartments can be coupled together. The device includes a plurality of time indicator compartments that are coupled to the tray base 104 and the pill compartments. Each of the time indicator compartments includes a time set component.
