DRUG SORTING DEVICE, SORTING CONTAINER, AND DRUG RETURN METHOD
A medicine sorting device includes: a discrimination part for discriminating a type of a medicine based on an image captured by a first camera; and a conveyance/sorting unit for sorting, by each type, a plurality of types of medicines accommodated in a mixed state in a first accommodating part based on a discrimination result of the discrimination part, and storing the medicines in a second accommodating part.
Child safety device for medication dispenser
A child safety device for medication dispenser including a bottom cap assembly, a top cap assembly. The bottom cap assembly is secured on top of a medication dispenser such as prescription bottles. The bottom cap assembly further includes pawls and a lever lock. On a top surface, the bottom cap includes at least one dosing aperture and dosage regimen indicia. The top cap assembly includes a top cap having an internal ratchet gear that, when mounted upon the bottom cap assembly, interacts with the pawls to permit rotation in only one direction. The top cap further includes stops that are configured to affix the top cap in predetermined positions. The present invention has a 2-step process, by depressing the arm lever to disengage it along the ratchet and pawl system. The user would then twist to move the cap to its respective indicia for its desired scheduling or to their dispensing opening.
Catheter tray, packaging system, instruction insert, and associated methods
A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. Printed instructions (1001) can be included with the tray (100). One or more layers of wrap material (2200) can be folded about the tray (100) to enclose the tray (100) and other items, such as an additional layer of wrap material (2701), packaged liquid hand sanitizer (2401), and packaged gloves (2402). When a health care services provider (3101) unfolds the wrap material, the same can be used to create a sterile field beneath a patient (3201).
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR INDIVIDUALS
Provided is a medication management system comprising; a) seven or more bags with a compartment for placement of pharmaceutical dosage forms, with at least one bag for each day of a week, each bag having a slot that is isolated from the compartment; b) at least seven bands for attaching the bags, each band having a letter and/or Braille representing a different day of the week, the bands configured to go through the slot of the bag and form a loop, each band having a fastener configured to fasten the band in the looped configuration; and c) a handbag for placement of all the bags and the bands; wherein a user had an option to detachably attach one or more bags to the same band.
Separable capsule for sprinkling applications
A comestible dosage form article, in the form of a hard capsule, for administration to a target subject, the dosage form comprising at least one body and at least one cap telescopically engageable with the body, the cap and the body being separable such to allow dispensing of a contents therefrom. The capsule comprising a sensory trigger over at least a portion of the outer surface of the capsule arranged to provide a visual, taste, and/or tactile deterrence to ingestion thereof.
Pill feeder
A pill feeder accepts a quantity of pills and organizes the pills into a single file where each pill is output in a controlled orientation at a controlled rate. The apparatus includes a moving surface, such as a rotating disk, to receive and move pills past one or more gates that separate and orient groups of pills into a single file. The gates can start at a closed position and open until a pill has passed the gate. In one embodiment, a mixer counter-rotates relative to the rotating disk to prevent jams of the pills. The single file of pills is then guided out to an exit chute via an exit path. An alternative exit path provides an alternative route via which the pills exit the pill feeder. Multiple sensors can control the movement of the gates and the rate at which the pills exit the pill feeder.
PILL COUNTING TRAY AND METHOD FOR USING SAME WITH MACHINE VISION
A tray and method for efficient counting of a desired number of pharmaceutical pills or capsules from a bulk supply and distributing said counted pills and any excess pills into a target container and the bulk supply respectively. The preferred embodiment of this invention incorporates a sprung, hinged flap which, when pressed into contact with the flat counting surface, forms a trapping enclosure for excess pills while the desired number of pills are poured with a novel funneling structure. Although useful by itself, the tray and method are designed for optimal time and motion efficiency and for accuracy when used with a machine-vision pill counter.
Visual Analysis Pill Dispenser
This disclosure provides a visual analytical method of verifying dispensed pills. In a preferred embodiment, a camera captures one or more parameters of each pill as it travels along a dispense path. The camera stores the parameters, and a processor displays the parameters or evaluates whether the parameters are within a threshold limit for the dispensed pill. If the parameter is outside the threshold, the pill or the receptacle is separated and/or removed. If all the parameters are within the threshold, the pill is stored in a receptacle, and the images are processed and archived for future verification. The process is repeated for each pill in the dispenser. The system captures at least one verification image for every pill dispensed into the receptacle.
MODULAR DOSING ASSEMBLY OF MEDICAL SUBSTANCES
Systems, devices and methods to establish fluid communication between vessels. Containers and devices having a unitary multiple entry port structure and a port unitary cover with buttons or levers for the assembly of customized final dosages of injectable beneficial substances. Containers and devices having a protective port with a cover configured to hermetically seal second container(s) within the protective port. A vessel having at least two entry ports and at least one exit port, and at least one container containing a dosing regimen, the at least one container configured to be received by one of the at least two entry ports of the vessel, whereby upon connection of the at least one container to the one of the at least two entry ports of the vessel, the dosing regimen in the at least one container is transferred into the vessel. Modular dosing system for adding at least one amount of a medicament to a preparation in a modular construction. System for displaying a dosing regimen or single amount of a medicament, so that the administrator of the amount is able to precisely ascertain the amount administered to a patient.
Method and apparatus for the counting and dispensing of tablets
An apparatus for counting and dispensing tablets includes a vibratory tablet feeder for feeding tablets to be counted to an output opening, at least one electrically-controlled vibrator coupled to the tablet feeder for vibrating the tablet feeder such that a singulated flow of tablets exits the output opening, and an optical system including at least one light source and at least one detector array located about a channel disposed downstream from the output opening of the tablet feeder. The optical system is configured to count tablets that pass through the channel as well as determine a tablet size class for the tablets that pass through the channel. Operation of the at least one electrically-controlled vibrator is controlled based on the tablet size class determined by the optical system.
