Object dispenser having a variable orifice and image identification

A method and apparatus for dispensing objects from automated storage and retrieval systems such as medications is disclosed which may also include a singulator to assure singulation (retrieval of singular objects). The singulator may be an imaging system to confirm and/or identify the objects being dispensed and/or a variable orifice dynamically adjustable to a specific object or pill size, and through which only a single object or pill is allowed to pass. The system may further include a flexible probe so as to reduce the size of the system where the movement of the probe relative to or while retrieving objects is accomplished by advancing/retracting a flexible tube. The method and apparatus may further include an imaging system.

HOT FILL LAMINATE

A multi-layered film laminate for use in making hot filled blister packages and a method of making such material is provided. The laminate generally includes a central core layer of barrier polymer film disposed between a slip film and a thermostable film. In particularly advantageous embodiments, the barrier film is a polychlorotrifluoroethylene film, the slip film is a polyvinyl chloride film, and the heat resistant film is a temperature resistant copolyester. The disclosed material provides a high moisture barrier and a stable inter-laminar structure that can withstand hot filling of liquids, such as liquids used to form soft and/or gummy dosages on form-fill-and-seal blister packaging machines.

Medication container encoding, verification, and identification

A medication container encoding, verification and identification method is provided that includes receiving data characterizing a medication, generating an identifier encapsulating the data and applying an identifier to a medication container such that it is automatically readable by a medication device. Related apparatus, systems, methods and articles are also described.

Closure systems for housing pharmaceuticals

A closure system includes an inner cap including a plurality of driving structures disposed proximate a periphery of a top surface of the inner cap, a child proof element separated from the inner cap configured to be assembled with the inner cap to form a child proof cap, and a key having a plurality of projections. The child proof element when assembled with the inner cap in a child proof mode is configured to require the plurality of projections of the key to engage at least a portion of the plurality of driving structures of the inner cap to remove the assembled child proof cap when the child proof cap is installed on the container.

Tablet printing apparatus

According to one embodiment, a tablet printing apparatus includes: a conveyor belt that includes a suction hole connected to a suction chamber, and conveys a tablet while sucking the tablet to the suction hole; an ink jet print head that has a nozzle surface where a nozzle is formed, and is located above the conveyor belt such that the nozzle surface faces the conveyor belt, and performs printing on the tablet conveyed by the conveyor belt; and a control plate that is located on the upstream side of the print head in the conveying direction of the tablet between the conveyor belt and the height position of the nozzle surface of the print head, and controls an airflow generated between the conveyor belt and the print head.

Catheter Tray, Packaging System, Instruction Insert, and Associated Methods

A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. Printed instructions (1001) can be included with the tray (100). One or more layers of wrap material (2200) can be folded about the tray (100) to enclose the tray (100) and other items, such as an additional layer of wrap material (2701), packaged liquid hand sanitizer (2401), and packaged gloves (2402). When a health care services provider (3101) unfolds the wrap material, the same can be used to create a sterile field beneath a patient (3201).

Storage and dispensing devices for administration of oral transmucosal dosage forms

Dispensing devices and systems for oral transmucosal administration of small volume drug dosage forms to the oral mucosa are provided. The dispensing device may be a single dose applicator (SDA), or an electromechanical device comprising a means for patient identification such as a wrist worn RFID tag and annular bidirectional antenna together with a lock-out feature.

Medical connector having locking engagement

A medical connector system including a first connector and a second connector. The first connector has a housing, a biasing member, and at least one projection. The second connector has at least one groove for receiving the at least one projection. The proximal end of the second connector is configured to be at least partially disposed within the distal end of the housing of the first connector. Upon application and release of a first set of opposing axial forces applied to the connector system, the first connector is locked to the second connector and, upon application and release of a second set of opposing axial forces, the first connector is released from the second connector. The connectors may include indicators to show when the connector system is in the locked position.
