Method and system for assembling sets of medical instruments and/or pharmaceutical products
A method and system for assembling sets of medical instruments and/or pharmaceutical products. The system includes a control system comprising or being connected to a database comprising data objects corresponding to available objects. An input area is provided to receive batches of unsorted medical instruments or pharmaceutical product containers, and an identification area having an identification unit. A temporary sorting area is also provided, including a plurality of storage positions provided with visual indications capable of visually indicating one of the storage position at a time, and an output area, possibly being overlapping with the input area, arranged to receive medical instruments and/or pharmaceutical products as assembled sets. The controller is arranged to receive information from the identification unit obtained when an item is arranged on the identification area, and to identify the item in the database.
PORTABLE MEDICATION CONTAINER
The medication container includes a generally card-shaped housing with an interior. The housing has a first opening that is sized to allow a plurality of pills to simultaneously be inserted into the interior of the housing and a first door that is movable between an open position and a closed position to selectively open and close the first opening. The housing also has a second opening that is spaced from the first opening and is configured to only allow a single dose of pills to be dispensed at a time. A second door is movable between open and closed positions. Electronic circuitry is disposed in the interior of the housing and is configured to detect the passage of the pills through the second opening and also to record data pertaining to each dispensing event to a memory contained within the interior of the housing.
Pharmaceutical transport system including RFID based lock operation and related methods
A pharmaceutical transport system may include an authentication server for storing authorized user identifications (IDs), and a pharmaceutical transport device movable within a pneumatic network. The transport device may include a container, a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader configured to obtain a user identification (ID) based upon a user RFID transmitter being presented adjacent thereto, and wireless communications circuitry to wirelessly communicate the obtained user ID to the authentication server. The pharmaceutical transport device may also include an electronic lock configured to unlock the container responsive to an unlock command via the wireless communications circuitry and from the authentication server based upon a match between the obtained user ID and one of the plurality of authorized user IDs.
Pill bottles with conductive ink and reading systems and methods
A pill bottle for prescribed pills includes: a circular top portion having an aperture; a circular bottom portion; walls that form a cylinder and connect the circular top portion with the circular bottom portion; and a pattern of electrically conductive ink disposed on an exterior surface of the walls.
MEDICAL INTRAVENOUS FLUID DELIVERY AND DISPOSAL DEVICES
A system and method for tracking and administering liquid intravenous medications in a hospital, clinic, or patient residence, including recording information onto a short range communication device affixed to a liquid container in a hospital pharmaceutical filling or compounding center, the information including drug information, patient information, and IV administration information, transferring the liquid container to a patient's bedside, programming an infusion course into a bedside IV infusion pump by enabling the pump to read the encoded information on the communication device, and disposing of the liquid container and any residual drug in a smart disposal bin that reads the communication device and weighs the container. The disposal bin may confirm the chemical contents of the container.
DISPENSER, POD, AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING AND TRACKING USAGE OF SUPPLEMENTS AND/OR PHARMACEUTICALS
A multi-serving cartridge assembly is provided with a frame defining serving chambers to receive a supplement. A plurality of trap doors is connected to the frame with each trap door associated with a respective one of the plurality of serving chambers and moveable between a first closed position to enclose the associated serving chamber and a second open position to dispense the supplement therefrom. A dispensing system is provided with a housing including a cartridge bay shaped to receive a cartridge with a plurality of unique identifiers, and a computer control system to read the unique identifier, open the serving chamber, and send a signal to a remote system. A method of dispensing supplement from a cartridge is also provided.
System and method for tracking medical expiration dates
An injectable medication tab used to track expiration dates has an informative tab, a release string, an adhesive liner, and a quick release fastener. The informative tab provides visually accessible information about a bottle to which the injectable medication tab is attached. An expiration information portion of the informative tab protrudes from the exterior surface of the bottle after being opened. The adhesive liner is superimposed onto a mounting surface of the informative tab and attaches the informative tab to the bottle. The quick release fastener is a coupling mechanism that connects between an edge of the informative tab and the release string. The release string forms a detachable connection holding the expiration information portion against the bottle until the bottle is opened. Once opened, the expiration information section to protrudes from the bottle until the expiration information is recorded and the medical information portion is adhered to the bottle.
Device for blood container processing
Device for blood container processing having a data storage reader unit 20 being adapted to read an blood donator identifier from a data storage of a blood container, and a data processing unit 50 being adapted to request for blood donator related information from an data base 163 based on the read blood donator identifier to allow a correct processing of all relevant information with respect to a blood donator and a blood recipient, to match the blood correctly and to avoid any serious injuries on the blood recipient side.
KIOSK TO DISPENSE MEDICATION SUCH AS MEDICINE FOR OPIOID ADDICTION
The present disclosure is directed to embodiments of a kiosk including a chassis having a patient compartment and a medication compartment. A patient does not have access to the medication compartment in the patient compartment. A dispense structure extends from the patient compartment to the medication compartment such that a dosage of medication may be dispensed to the patient when within the patient compartment. After the medication is dispensed to the patient, a medical professional observes the patient ingest the medication through a video conference display within the patient compartment. A biometric scanner may be in electrical communication with a lock in mechanical cooperation with a door hingedly coupled to the chassis to limit access to the medication compartment. An insulated safe with an internal chamber wherein the internal chamber's temperature is regulated. A medication is stored within the internal chamber of the insulated safe at a selected temperature by regulating the temperature within the internal chamber of the insulated safe.
Medication dose preparation and transfer system
Apparatus, systems, methods and articles are described to prepare and track medications and medication containers as they are prepared, administered to patients and, in some cases, disposed of. Information such as medication type, concentration, and volume are associated with medication containers during preparation and this information can later be consumed/utilized when administering the medication from a container to a patient. Disposing of any remaining medication can also be tracked.
