Sensor equipped medicinal container
Medicinal container bags are presented. Bags can include openers capable of sealing an opening of the bag. Disclosed bags further comprise electronic assemblies configured to detect opening or closing events as the openers move along the rims of the bag opening. The assemblies can compile usage data based on opener movement, and then provide the data to remote monitoring systems.
Apparatus and Method for Improved Drug Regimen Compliance
A method and apparatus for monitoring drug-regimen compliance is disclosed. Systems in accordance with the present invention enable automatic monitoring of the state of medicine content of a blister card. Each tablet location on the blister card is operatively coupled with a different sensor that detects whether the tablet location is occupied and/or a dispensing event at a tablet location. In some embodiments, capacitive sensing is employed, where the capacitance of each sensor is based on the physical state of a dispensing region of the lidding film of the blister pack, which is located at the tablet location being monitored. Alternative sensing approaches are based on optical, acoustic, and tactile sensors that interrogate either the dispensing region at each tablet location or the tablets themselves to determine whether tablets have been dispensed. The sensors interface with a mobile app that provides the user instructions to help improve drug-regimen compliance.
PILL DISPENSING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR AUTOMAICALLY DISPENSING PILLS
Provided is a pill dispensing apparatus that automatically dispenses pills to patients. Also provided is a method of automatically dispensing pills to patients.
Smart medication adherence refrigeration tray (SMART)
A Smart Medication Adherence Refrigeration Tray (SMART) along with method of use to assist with self-management of medication treatment by patients. The SMART medication tray accepts a plurality of medication filled containers of various sizes along with individual storage compartments for each container. Each medication storage compartment uses an embedded scale mechanism to monitor the amount of medication being taken by the patient and to assist with the medication adherence compliance. A series of optical sensors are utilized to detect when medication bottles are placed on the storage compartment as well as when they are being removed. Medication tray utilizes wireless technology to interactively communicate with outside computing devices to receive medication prescription and assist with the adherence process.
IMAGE RECOGNITION-BASED DOSAGE FORM DISPENSERS
This invention provides a dosage form dispenser, comprising a casing comprising a first portion adapted for insertion within an oral cavity of a subject and a second portion adapted to encase a dosage form dispensing mechanism located therewithin; at least one camera positioned on said second portion of said casing, further positioned to capture a field of view of a portion of a face of a subject, wherein said field of view comprises at least a portion of a base view of the nose of said subject; a dosage form dispensing mechanism; a microprocessor and associated memory for processing and storing user authentication information, comparing images relayed from said at least one camera to at least one stored user standard and providing authentication when a match is established; and an interface connected to said dispensing mechanism, which promotes dispensing said dosage form when said authentication has been obtained. Methods for dispensing a dosage form directly within an oral cavity of a subject in need thereof, using the dispensers are also described.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING AND ASSISTING IN MEDICATION COMPLIANCE
A medication adherence system for facilitating adherence to a medication dosage schedule is provided, comprising a smart case to receive or adhere to a medication pack, a sensor for detecting a medication event, and a tangible computer readable medium interface for users to obtain feedback regarding their adherence to their respective medication dosage schedules.
Medication Compliance Alert Device
Example embodiments relate to medication compliance alert devices. An example embodiment includes a method. The method includes capturing information about a medication label associated with a medication. The method also includes analyzing, by a first computing device, the information about the medication label to extract medication information. Further, the method includes generating, by the first computing device, a medication schedule for a corresponding patient associated with the medication. The medication schedule includes a dosage strength and dosage frequency. In addition, the method includes prompting, by a second computing device, the corresponding patient to take an amount of the medication corresponding to the dosage strength at a predetermined time according to the medication schedule. Still further, the method includes receiving, by the second computing device, an indication that the corresponding patient has taken the amount of the medication corresponding to the dosage strength.
Medication Box Assembly
A medication box assembly includes a pill box that has a plurality of compartments each integrated into the pill box to contain pills. A plurality of covers is each hingedly disposed on the pill box for opening and closing the compartments. A lid is hingedly coupled to the pill box for opening and closing the pill box. A weight sensor is integrated into the pill box to sense weight of the pills in the compartments. An alert is integrated into the lid and the alert is in communication with the weight sensor. The alert is actuated when the weight sensor senses a weight that is below a pre-determined trigger weight to communicate that the number of pills in the compartments has fallen below a minimum amount.
