Smart package and method for manufacturing the package
A smart package backing (100) for pills removable from the backing, wherein the backing is adapted to record a removal of said pills by means of detection elements (103, 401a, 501a). The detection elements comprise electrical components (401a, 501a), wherein said electrical components are pressed onto the backing (100) with methods of printing technology. The removal of a pill from the backing is adapted to bring about a structural change in at least one printed component, and the structural change of said component is adapted to bring about an electrically measurable change in an electric circuit comprising said component. In addition, at least one of said electrical components (401a, 501a) deviates in terms of its specific electrical value from the specific electrical value of at least one other electrical component (401a, 501a).
Dual purpose pill reminder and tamper detector
An audio signal analysis method is provided for detecting the opening and closing of a medicine bottle cap in a robust manner using a micro speaker and a microphone along with associated mixed signal electronics. It is also used for robust tamper detection and for monitoring liquid medication consumption accurately. In a preferred embodiment an un-modulated OFDM signal is used that covers the entire operating audio spectrum. In another embodiment, Complimentary code based phase encoding of the subcarrier phases is used to reduce the peak to average power of the OFDM signal, thereby enabling higher transmit power of the audio signal to mitigate against interference. A suitable wireless device can be co-located with the mixed signal electronics for sending the bottle usage, medication reminder alarm, and tamper status to the medication compliance monitoring system or to the user's cell phone. In some embodiments of the patent, electrical capacitance sensing is used to determine if the bottle is opened or closed.
SMART MEDICATION CONTAINER
Various embodiments relate to systems and methods for monitoring adherence to a medication regimen through the use of a smart medication container. The container can include an electronic display that presents relevant information, such as dosage and/or medication information, instructions, user information, messages, notifications, and device information (e.g., battery status, network connectivity status). A pair of conductive elements positioned on either side of the container's opening can be configured to continually measure capacitance in order to identify when contents (e.g., pills) leave the container. More than one pair of conductive elements may be used to improve accuracy and reduce the effects of noise. A processor is able to analyze the capacitance data and determine whether medication has been dispensed from the container and, if so, how much medication was dispensed. A computer system can then compare the results to a planned medication regimen to determine a state of compliance.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ORIENTATION-BASED OBJECT MONITORING AND DEVICE FOR THE SAME
This invention relates to methods and systems for accelerometer-based sensing of motion and orientation of a portable device affixed to or integral with an object, to trigger an audio or visual output based on the motion or orientation of the object the portable device is monitoring. The audio output can be pre-recorded in the device memory or can be user recorded through the tilt and tell device voice recording. The invention also employs unique movement and orientation to estimated usage, the person using the device, and other application specific usage information. The unique movement can also be used as user interface to the device.
PILL MANAGEMENT AND HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM
A system and method for the dispensing of medication in the form of pills and also to monitor health parameters is disclosed. The system comprises a modular system having a main control module; a plurality of pill dispensing modules in communication with the main control module; and optionally sensors to measure health parameters in communication with the main control module. The main control module can store information and also can communicate information over a communications network.
Smart pill box and medical compliance monitoring
Methods and systems are described for monitoring medication use with a home automation system. An example medication monitoring system includes a medication storage device, a proximity device, and a dispenser module. The medication storage device is configured to hold a plurality of medications. The proximity device is configured to detect an activity of a user relative to the medication storage device. The dispense module is configured to detect a pattern of the activity based on data received from the proximity device, and generate a notice. The notice may be generated if the pattern is broken. The notice may include a summary report on usage of the medication storage device. The notice may include an alarm if the medication storage device is, for example, tampered with or moved.
SENSOR EQUIPPED MEDICINAL CONTAINER
Medicinal container bags are presented. Bags can include openers capable of sealing an opening of the bag. Disclosed bags further comprise electronic assemblies configured to detect opening or closing events as the openers move along the rims of the bag opening. The assemblies can compile usage data based on opener movement, and then provide the data to remote monitoring systems.
PILLS DISPENSING DEVICE
The embodiments herein provide a device for dispensing pills. The device comprises several dispensing chambers molded into the bottle rim, or fastened inside or outside the bottle. The chamber includes many radial projections defining discrete pill holding areas. The device comprises a dispensing cap secured and rotated uni-directionally or bi-directionally to the chambers, having a base, provided with a window. The cap comprises uneven surfaces on the holding surface to allow the pills in the chambers to oscillate up and down thereby causing a mixing action. The cap is mounted outside the bottle. The device further comprises a rotating central hub formed on an inner side of the base for delimiting an inner boundary of the pill holding areas. The cap is rotated to align the window with the pill holding areas to dispense a pill when the bottle is inverted or angled upside-down.
Home medication manager
A portable self medication management system and method of provided. For example, the system may include a removable tote and docking station. The removable tote including a plurality of receptacles, communicating section for transferring data to and from a docking station and a power reception station for receiving power from the docking station. The docking station including a scanner, a display screen, a controller, a storage device, communicating sections for transmitting data to the removable tote and other external devices and a power transmitting section for transferring power to the removable tote.
Medical Administration and Information System
A System for storing pills in their original pharmaceutical bottles, verifying authenticity and pill count of each medication, tracking inventory, ordering refills, dispensing pills at prescribed times, providing alerts to caregivers, and reporting adherence patterns to medical providers, institutions, companies and interested parties through its Analytics system. The System accomplishes functions while displaying informational content on its touch-screen display, while showing advertisements, health recommendations, information on drug interactions, side effects, and related content on the System Device's touch-screen.
