Temperature regulation apparatus and method
A machine for a temperature regulation arrangement that includes a closed area within the machine leading a temperature regulating chamber positioned adjacent a heat source, in which there are a number of liquid collectors arranged so that each has a feed take off that provides a elevated passage way from one liquid collector to the next.
Tandem Water Spot Cooling Device for Top Die
A tandem water spot cooling device for a top die. The device includes a spot cooling device main body, a lower sealing plate, an outer-ring circular track, an inner-ring serpentine passage, outer-ring flow dividing baffles, inner-ring flow dividing baffles, outer-ring through holes, inner-ring through holes, bolt hole reservation positions, stripper rod reservation positions, and water inlet and outlet connection through holes.
DIRECTIONAL SOLIDIFICATION CASTING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A directional solidification casting assembly includes a directional solidification mold having an interior chamber with a shape of an object to be cast using directional solidification of molten metal in a growth direction of the mold and a feed line conduit. The conduit is fluidly coupled with a container source of the molten metal and is coupled with the mold at a gating. The feed line conduit conveys the molten metal into the mold through the gating for directional solidification of the object to be cast in the mold. At least a downstream portion of the feed line conduit that is between the intermediate location of the feed line conduit and the second open end of the feed line conduit is located below the gating along the growth direction of the mold.
CONTROLLED NOZZLE COOLING (CNC) CASTING
A process for the casting of metals and their alloys includes the steps of providing at least a mold equipped with a plurality of cooling nozzles, making a layer of coolant permeable materials covering the nozzles and maintaining the materials at desired temperatures, delivering a molten metal into the mold, supplying predetermined amount of coolant to each nozzles to contact the casting at desired rate, time, and duration to achieve an acceptable level of progressive solidification from the distal end of the casting towards the riser until the casting has reached desired temperatures.
SURFACE TREATMENT DEVICE
A surface treatment device utilizes an electrode device. The electrode device is provided with a closed part facing a bottom part of a bottomed hole when inserted inside the bottomed hole, and a flow through hole linking the inside and outside of the electrode device is formed in the electrode device. When surface treatment is implemented on the inner wall surface of the bottomed hole, the hollow electrode device is inserted into the inside of the bottomed hole, the electrolytic treatment solution is made to flow through the space inside the bottomed hole, and power is applied across the electrode device and the inner wall surface of the bottomed hole. The closed part faces the bottom part of the bottomed hole as an electrode across a prescribed surface area; therefore, electroplating at the bottom part of the bottomed hole proceeds to the same extent as other sites.
GRAIN GROWTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
System, methods for improving grain growth in a cast melt of a superalloy are provided. The system includes at least a mold having a shape defining a part of a turbo machine, e.g., a turbine blade. A cast melt, e.g., a superalloy, is poured into the mold, and one or more heating/cooling elements are arranged in the cast melt. The system further includes a controller operatively connected to the elements for controlling the electrical current of, e.g., a heating wire of the heating element, or controlling the flow-rate for, e.g., a coolant of the cooling element. By controlling, i.e., adjusting the current and/or flow-rate, via the controller, a temperature gradient may be induced to improve grain growth.
LIGHT ALLOY WHEEL, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME, AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A method for manufacturing a light alloy wheel that includes a substantially annular rim part and a disc part that is joined to one edge of the rim part on an inner side and is to be attached to an axle. The method includes a molten metal pouring step for pouring a light alloy molten metal from a sprue opened into a mold cavity formed into a shape of the rim part, and a forced cooling step for, after the molten metal pouring step, forcibly cooling the light alloy molten metal poured into the mold cavity formed into the shape of the rim part such that one predetermined cooling unit of a plurality of cooling units provided along an entire circumference on an outer side or an inner side of the mold cavity formed into the shape of the rim part is first operated and an other cooling unit thereof is then operated.
CORE FOR CASTINGS
A core (1) for producing castings (100) in a modular mould; each casting (100) having at least one thermally activatable portion (102) shaped so that it can face a heat source (HS); each casting (100) having at least one duct (106) contained inside the portion (102); the duct (106) being fluid tight so that a fluid can flow through it; the core (1) having a suitable shape to form, in negative, the duct (106); the core (1) comprising at least one insert (20)(20′)(20″) shaped so as to define at least two passages (200)(200′) for the fluid inside the duct (106).
CASTING DEVICE
A casting device includes a mold provided with an insert die, a molten metal supply device for supplying molten metal into the mold, and a gas supply mechanism for supplying a gas, which is used for forced cooling, to the insert die. The insert die is made of tungsten having a thermal conductivity significantly higher than that of die steel. The insert die has a spiral or meandering gas passage therein. The spiral or meandering gas passage has a passage length much longer than a straight passage.
