FILTER ELEMENT FOR FLOW STABILISATION AND/OR PURIFYING A MELT OBTAINED DURING CASTING, AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FILTER ELEMENT
In a filter element in which, for flow stabilization and/or purifying a melt used during casting, the melt is guided through the filter element, the filter element is designed as three-dimensional rib structures with openings as flow channels through which liquid melt is guided. The ribs of the rib structure are formed by particles made of a material that can be used as a mold material in casting technology, and by a binder by means of which the particles can be integrally bonded. The ribs are also provided on their surface with a coating of a polymer resin.
Casting Mold and Method for Producing a Casting
A casting mould for producing a casting formed from a light metal alloy, in particular a housing for an electric drive for a motor vehicle. The casting mould advantageously has at least one sand core which is designed and arranged in the casting mould in such a way that the at least at least one sand core can be completely surrounded, at least in sections, in a circumferential direction by a light metal melt with which the casting mould is filled to form the casting. It is advantageous to be able to produce a casting in which, for example, a cooling channel is incorporated. It is not necessary to drill a hole to form a channel. Furthermore, the invention relates to a process for manufacturing a casting made of a light metal alloy, in particular a housing for an electric drive for a motor vehicle.
Filter For The Filtration Of A Liquid Metal
A filter for filtering a liquid metal and to be received in a mold housing defined by internal side and face walls. The filter has a top wall and side walls extending downwardly from the top wall, the side walls being joined together at respective corners. The side walls extend downwardly towards distal end portions. The corners of the filter have a stiffness or rigidity that is higher that the remainder of the filter for increasing the strength of the overall filter and for helping the filter to maintain its shape and integrity throughout casting. The shape of the side walls allows an easy and consistent placement of the filter in the mold housing and ensures that the filter is maintained in place.

Low-Pressure Mold and Production Process for Aluminum Alloy Integrated Brake Calipers
The present invention discloses a low-pressure mold and production process for aluminum alloy integrated brake calipers, relating to the technical field of casting. The mold comprises a bottom plate, a right mold core and a left mold core are provided on the bottom plate, and the right mold core and the left mold core have the same internal structure and are each provided with a sprue assembly. The low-pressure casting process has higher production efficiency and yield than gravity casting. Castings produced by low-pressure casting have higher structural compactness and more excellent mechanical properties than those produced by gravity casting.
Countergravity Casting Apparatus and Desulfurization Methods
An apparatus for countergravity casting a metallic material, has: a crucible for holding melted metallic material; a casting chamber for containing a mold; a fill tube capable of extending into the crucible to communicate melted metallic material to the casting chamber; and a gas source coupled to a headspace of the melting vessel to allow the gas source to pressurize the headspace to establish a pressure differential to force the melted metallic material upwardly through said fill tube into the mold. Extraneous sulfur is prevented from entering the molten metal from the mold by solidifying metal in the fill tube.
