Orthodontic modeling filler material and method
An improved dough-like filler material for use in dental and orthodontic modelling and the manufacturing methods that may be used to produce such improved dough-like filler material.
Improving shelf life and color profile of resin compositions with silver nanoparticles
Methods of forming antimicrobial resin compositions comprising silver nanoparticles are disclosed, wherein the resin compositions that are generated exhibit lower initial color, reduced color shift upon storage and reduced levels of spontaneous polymerization. Such methods generally comprise: combining a silver-containing material with a self-cure and dual-cure base resin in situ wherein the base resin does not contain a catalytic amine; and adding a catalytic resin to the mixture of the resin and silver-containing material in order to form the final cured resin. Antimicrobial polymeric materials formed by said methods are also disclosed.
Dental Composition
The present invention provides dental compositions and devices comprising a rechargeable fluoride delivery system wherein the rechargeable fluoride delivery system comprises a layered double hydroxide with the formula M(II).sub.1-x M(III).sub.x (OH).sub.2(A.sup.n).sub.x/nyH.sub.2O where M(II) is a divalent cation, M(III) is a trivalent cation, A is an anion with a charge, x is a value between 0.2 and 0.33, y is an integer between 1 and 10 and n has a value of 1.
Method of attaching a dental article to the surface of the tooth
A method of attaching a dental article to the surface of a tooth includes providing the dental article and applying a coating including upconversion phosphors to a surface of the dental article. The method also includes applying a dental cement composition to the surface of the tooth and placing the dental article on the surface of the tooth such that the coating is adjacent the dental cement composition. The dental cement composition includes a polymerizable resin and a photoinitiator and is substantially free of upconversion phosphors. The method further includes irradiating the coating with a radiation source that emits radiation at a pre-determined fixed wavelength that causes the upconversion phosphors to emit radiation at an activation wavelength of the dental cement composition photoinitiator such that the dental cement composition cures in a region adjacent the coating and removing remaining uncured dental cement composition outside the dental article from the tooth.
CURABLE RADIOPAQUE SUBSTANCE
A curable and radiopaque substance, a material that can be produced from same via polymerisation, a method for producing the curable substance and the cured material, and the use of the curable substance or the cured material are disclosed. The curable substance or the cured material can be used in, inter alia, orthopaedics as so-called bone cement, in particular as a tooth filling material, dental cement, dental lining material, flowable composite material (flow material) etc., as well as in diagnostic radiology. The invention also relates to the use of the curable substance generally as a construction material in an additive manufacturing process using a digital data model.

Block for use in a CAD/CAM system for the manufacture of a dental restauration, said block consisting of a thermoplastic polymer comprising PEEK including radiopaque particles selected from the group comprising BaZrO.sub.3, YbF.sub.3, Yb.sub.2O.sub.3, SrO, SrZrO.sub.3, SiO.sub.2ZrO.sub.2, SiO.sub.2Yb.sub.2O.sub.3, Lu.sub.2O.sub.3, LuF.sub.3.
PREPARATION PROCESS OF DENTAL AND ORTHOPEDIC ACRYLIC MATERIALS WITH ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES USING COPPER NANOPARTICLE TECHNOLOGY
The present invention concerns a new biomaterial used to manufacture antimicrobial dental devices, intended to control the growth of microorganisms in the oral cavity. These include removable dentures (RD) with copper nanoparticles technology and antimicrobial properties against dental pathogens, such as: Candida albicans, a pathogen responsible for denture stomatitis; Pathogenic Streptococcus mutans, responsible for the initiation and progression of caries formation; and Staphylococcus aureus, which causes periprosthetic infections. This removable dental material allows for the production of a new dental device to prevent and/or control oral infections caused by said pathogens, such as denture stomatitis, secondary caries, periodontal diseases, among others.
