A method of fabricating a vehicle part casing using a die-casting apparatus includes preparing a molten aluminum (AL) alloy by heating an Al alloy. A die-casting mold is preheated, and then, the vehicle part casing is molded by pouring the molten Al alloy into the die-casting mold. The vehicle part casing is removed from the die-casting mold and a surface of the vehicle part casing is trimmed. Burs on the vehicle part casing are removed.

Housed in the casing is an actuator for actuating a valve piston of the evacuation valve. The actuator includes a casting material actuated force transducer and a force transmission member for transmitting the closing movement of the force transducer to the valve piston of the evacuation valve. The actuator features in addition a stacked spring assembly for returning the actuator and/or force ejecting the riser. The front casing part is provided with a sleeve surrounding at least a head part of the valve piston and/or a further sleeve surrounding at least the head part of the force transducer. Both sleeves are harder than the front casing part.

A high-level vacuum environment is created in the apparatus by drawing air from the apparatus which is sealed from atmospheric air. This makes it possible to reduce contact with air, which can improve the quality of the metal product.

A casting apparatus is provided with a die; an injection device including a tubular sleeve which communicates with a cavity of the die, and a plunger which injects a molten metal into the cavity; and first and second suction devices, each of which sucks air from the interior of the tubular sleeve. The tubular sleeve communicates with the cavity. The tubular sleeve includes a supply port through which the molten metal is supplied, and an opening which is formed near the supply port for drawing air. The first suction device sucks the air from the interior of the tubular sleeve through the opening. The second suction device sucks the air from the tubular sleeve through a gap between an inner circumferential surface of the tubular sleeve and an outer circumferential surface of the plunger.

A mold device for forming metal in a high-level vacuum environment. The mold device comprises a fixed mold, a movable mold adjoining the upper portion of the fixed mold to form a mold cavity, a closing plate placed closely on top of the movable mold, and an ejector pin extending through the closing plate and the movable mold into the mold cavity. Packing is disposed in a hole in the closing plate through which the ejector pin extends, thereby preventing atmospheric air from entering the mold cavity. There is a blocking space between the movable mold and the packing to prevent heat from being transferred to the packing. An exhaust unit creates a vacuum environment by drawing air from the mold cavity. The metal product is pushed out by the ejector pin.

Die casting apparatus and die casting method

In a die casting apparatus, during feeding of molten metal by an electromagnetic pump, a molten metal level sensor repeatedly detects a during-feeding level of the molten metal stored in a molten metal holding furnace; a control unit corrects a molten metal feeding voltage to a during-feeding voltage based on the repeatedly detected during-feeding level of the molten metal such that an amount of the molten metal fed by the electromagnetic pump coincides with a prescribed amount; the control unit applies the during-feeding voltage to the electromagnetic pump to cause the electromagnetic pump to feed the molten metal from the molten metal holding furnace into a plunger sleeve; and casting is performed through an injecting operation in which the molten metal fed into the plunger sleeve is extruded by a plunger tip to be injected into a cavity.

A method is provided for producing a die-cast part by means of a die-casting die, wherein air contained in the die-casting die is sucked out. A moisture contained in the air that is sucked out is measured. In the method, the moisture is measured while the air is sucked out. A cooling apparatus for a valve piston of a casting die includes a base mountable to the casting die, an opening in a back end of the valve piston extending towards a front end of the piston facing the molten metal, and a hollow shaft extending from the opening for slidably engaging the base. To provide the coolant to the inside of the piston, a coolant delivery tube may extend from the base into the opening in the back end through the hollow shaft. Thus, the cooling apparatus does not require any plumbing appendages to the piston that might impede its movement in the casting die during normal operation.
