METHODS TO REDUCE COLD FLAKES IN HIGH PRESSURE DIE CASTINGS
20250079956 · 2025-03-06 ·

A die cast part, such as an electric drive unit, a high pressure die casting system, and a method of forming a die cast part. The high pressure die casting system includes a shot sleeve including a pour hole, a launder connected to the pour hole, a furnace connected to the launder, a mold cavity connected to the shot sleeve by a sprue post, and a heating system including at least one proximal channel located under the pour hole under the shot sleeve. The feedstock is melted in the furnace and transferred by a launder into the preheated shot sleeve through a pour hole. The feedstock is injected into a mold cavity, wherein the temperature of the feedstock is above the solidus temperature of the feedstock upon entering the mold cavity.

OVERFLOW VORTEX TRANSFER SYSTEM

The present invention is directed to a molten metal pump comprising an elongated pumping chamber tube with a base end and an open top end. A shaft extends into the tube and rotates an impeller therein, the impeller rotates proximate the base end. The tube has a diameter at least 1.1 times the diameter of the impeller. The pumping chamber tube preferably has a length at least three times the height of the impeller. The base end includes an inlet and the top end includes a tangential outlet. Rotation of the impeller draws molten metal into the pumping chamber and creates a rotating equilibrium vortex that rises up the walls of the pumping chamber. The rotating vortex adjacent the top end exists the device cia the tangential outlet.

Casting machine

A casting machine having a furnace body, a first heater, a first surface and pressure means. The furnace body has a melting portion and a holding portion, material being supplied and melted to form the molten metal in the melting portion, the holding portion holding the molten metal which has flowed out from the melting portion. The first heater heats the material supplied to the melting portion to melt it. The first surface is provided on a hearth surface of the melting portion and has concavities and convexities, the material to be heated being laid on the first surface.

CAST MOLDING METHOD AND DEVICES THEREOF

A cast molding method accomplishes the cast molding by a smelting chamber, a casting chamber, a hinge press system and a vacuum system. First, a metallic die is assembled in the casting chamber and then a metallic material is put in the smelting chamber. Next, the metallic material is heated up in a vacuum state and the casting chamber is pre-heated at a same time. After the metallic material in the smelting chamber has been melted down and the casting chamber has been vacuumized, the melted metallic material is filled into the metallic die, and then the hinge press system is turned on to cast mold the metallic die, resulting in a semi-solid product. After the semi-solid product has been cooled down, the product of cast molding is accomplished according to the present invention.

Casting mold

Provided is a highly versatile casting mold in which weight and manufacturing cost can be reduced, and whereby flash can be suppressed. A plate-shaped base part having a flat attachment face to which a back face of a fixed-cavity mold is attached is provided to a fixed mold constituting a casting mold. A portion of the base part in contact with the back face of the fixed-cavity mold has an attachment part body for supporting the fixed-cavity mold, and a pressure increasing means for increasing the pressure imparted to the fixed-cavity mold via the attachment part body in a state in which the mold is closed.

Ultrasound assisted vertical shot chamber for die casting applications
12420334 · 2025-09-23 ·

A method and apparatus for producing semi-solid material castings from its liquid state in a shot chamber of a vertical die casting machine where the liquid material is poured into a shot chamber and rapidly cooled from its liquid state to temperatures below its liquidus. High-intensity ultrasonic vibration is applied to the cast material. The combined action of rapid cooling from the shot chamber, vigorous pushing by the plunger, and radiation of ultrasonic vibration on the cast material in the shot chamber directly turns the initial liquid material directly into a semi-solid slurry. The slurry is then injected into a die cavity to form a casting.

DUAL INJECTION SYSTEM AND SYNCHRONIZATION CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

Provided are a dual injection system and a synchronization control method thereof. The system includes a primary injection system and a secondary injection system, where the primary injection system and the secondary injection system each include a speed injection oil circuit and a booster oil circuit; the speed injection oil circuit of the primary injection system and the speed injection oil circuit of the secondary injection system are arranged independently of each other; and the booster oil circuit of the primary injection system and the booster oil circuit of the secondary injection system each include an A-bridge valve group and are arranged in coordination with each other. The method is configured to perform a synchronization control on the primary injection system and the secondary injection system of the system.

OVERMOULDING METHOD

An overmoulding method for making an overmould (2) forming a decoration to be added to a part (1) or a part itself, including: providing an bauche (3) used as an injection tool, the bauche (3) having at least one through hole (4) forming a channel (5) for injecting the metal alloy (8), the bauche (3) being made of a first material with a thermal effusivity less than or equal to 7,000 W K1 m2 s or being at least partially plated with a layer made of the first material; positioning the bauche (3) inside an injection mould (6); injecting the metal alloy (8) through the through hole (4) opening into a cavity to obtain the overmould (2); and detaching the overmould (2) from the bauche (3) to form the decoration to be added or the part itself.
