Use of 1-[(4R)-4-methylcyclohexen-1-yl]ethanone to impart a ylang-ylang note to a composition.

Acidic oral compositions having calcium contents and effective pH-values in the area indicated by grey-tone in FIG. 2 are non-erosive in saliva and capable of stimulating saliva production, even in dry mouth patients. A new multi-step test method for determining erosive potential in saliva has been used for identifying the compositions.

The invention provides a personal cleansing composition having an aqueous continuous phase including cleansing surfactant and a solubilised hydrocarbon oil having a kinematic viscosity of 1 to 35 cSt at 40 C. and a specific gravity of 0.76 to 0.87 at 25 C.; in which the hydrocarbon oil is solubilised in wormlike micelles in the aqueous continuous phase by means of a linker molecule and an inorganic electrolyte; in which the linker molecule is selected from one or more compounds of formula: R(X).sub.n, in which R is a C.sub.6 to C.sub.14 mono-, di- or trivalent saturated aliphatic or an aromatic hydrocarbyl group, n is 1 to 3 and each X is independently selected from OH and COOH; and in which the level of hydrocarbon oil in the composition ranges from 0.8 to 1.5% by weight based on the total weight of the composition.

A method is provided for learning a perfume preference of a user, including receiving at least one of personal and preference information regarding at least one user; determining a plurality of scents based on the preference information; loading a device with a plurality of containers containing ingredients respectively corresponding to the plurality of scents, the device being configured to dispense the ingredients in a drop-wise manner onto a scent-holding medium; performing a plurality of different trials, each trial including dispensing a combination of the plurality of scents onto a scent-holding medium receiving feedback information from the user regarding the combination wherein each different trial includes a different combination of the plurality of scents, and determining a recommended perfume for the user based on the feedback information.

A topical therapeutic hydrophobic breakable composition includes a carrier comprising (a) about 60% to about 99% by weight of at least one hydrophobic oil; (b) at least one viscosity-modifying agents selected from the group consisting of a fatty alcohol, a fatty acid and a wax; and (c) a tetracycline antibiotic, characterized in that at least part of the tetracycline antibiotic is suspended in the composition; the viscosity of the composition is at least about 30% higher than the viscosity of the carrier without the tetracycline antibiotic; and is higher than the viscosity of the hydrophobic oil and the tetracycline antibiotic without the viscosity modifying agents. The tetracycline is chemically stable in the composition for at least six months; wherein more than about 90% of the tetracycline has not broken down. The composition is packaged as a breakable foam that breaks easily upon application of shear force.

Oral care compositions comprising an amino acid and stannous ion source, especially in the absence of zinc ion source, are provided for promoting Gum Health of a user.

Oral care compositions comprising citrulline and stannous ion source with a specific pH range are provided for promoting Gum Health of a user.

Fragrance accords are provided herein that can provide a consumer with a perception of hygiene. The fragrance accords can include one or more of a citrus compound, floral compound, herbal/aromatic compound, and sulfur containing compound. The accords are suitable for incorporation into a fragrance composition and/or a consumer product to enhance the perception of hygiene. Methods of stimulating the perception of hygiene with the fragrance accords are also provided.
