METHOD FOR EVALUATING CELLULOSE NANOFIBER DISPERSION
Herein provided are methods for evaluating cellulose nanofiber dispersions, comprising the steps of: (1) preparing a cellulose nanofiber dispersion; (2) adding a color material into the cellulose nanofiber dispersion; and (3) observing the cellulose nanofiber dispersion to which a colored pigment has been added with a light microscope. The methods allow for easy evaluation of whether or not agglomerates of cellulose nanofibers exist in cellulose nanofiber dispersions, which cannot be visually determined.
Method of treating a skin condition and compositions therefor
Cosmetic methods and compositions for improving the appearance and barrier function of skin. The methods and compositions utilize a combination of niacinamide and a suitable saccharide at low pH to decrease trans-epidermal water loss in skin, reduce the size of hyperpigmented spots, and improve the appearance of skin better than their high pH counterparts.
Modified polysaccharides
Cationic and silicon substituents are introduced into polysaccharides thereby producing modified polysaccharides cationically substituted by quaternary ammonium groups and having a charge density of about 0.1 to about 2.5 meq/g, and further substituted by siliconate groups such that the modified polysaccharide has a silicon content of about 300 to about 5000 ppm. The modified polysaccharides have application in industrial, home care and personal care surface modifying formulations.
Floral, green odorant
The present invention concerns a composition of matter comprising at least 85% w/w of (Z)-5,9-dimethyldeca-3,8-dien-5-ol and at most 15% w/w of (E)-5,9-dimethyldeca-3,8-dien-5-ol, as well as the use as perfuming ingredient of said composition of matter.
Use of metal complexes which are mimetics of SOD as food agents and as cosmetics
This invention relates to the use of the metal complexes which are mimetics of the superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme produced from macrocyclic polyazapyridinophane compounds of formula (1) as food agents and also as cosmetics.
Antiperspirant/deodorant with alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone
An antiperspirant/deodorant liquid composition comprising a solvent, an antiperspirant and/or deodorant ingredient, a fragrance, and an alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone, wherein the alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone is soluble or dispersible in the composition. The alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone is capable of forming a film when the solvent is allowed to evaporate such that the film limits the release of the fragrance. Fragrance is released when the film is exposed to perspiration. The alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone overcomes the problem with other film forming polymers that do not form stable films in the presence of an antiperspirant and/or deodorant ingredient.

The present application relates to fragrance compositions comprising perfume raw materials that resist fragrance habituation, and methods for making and using the fragrance compositions.
Method for synthesising cyclohexenones and the use of same in the perfume industry
The present invention concerns a method for synthesizing cyclohexenone and cyclohexenol compounds having specific fragrances and remanence properties, said method consisting in condensing a ketone on an -methylene-aldehyde in order to obtain, by means of a domino reaction, compounds of formula (I). ##STR00001##
DEEP CLEANSING HAIR CARE COMPOSITION
A shampoo composition is disclosed that has from about 5 to about 40 weight % of one or more detersive surfactants and an aqueous carrier comprising water and one or more polyols, wherein the weight ratio of one or more polyols to water is higher than or equal to about 0.4, and the water content is higher than or equal to about 9% by weight of the composition. The composition delivers thorough hair cleansing, good lather, good conditioning wet feel, clean rinse feel during use, leaving hair with very low residue on the hair surface. The use of the shampoo composition also provides high hair volume, smooth dry hair feel, and bouncy hair that is easy to style.
METHOD OF TREATING HAIR
A method of treating the hair including providing a concentrated hair care composition in a mechanical foam dispenser. The concentrated hair care composition includes one or more silicones, from about 1% to about 5% perfume, an emulsifier system, and is substantially free of high melting point fatty compounds. The method also includes dispensing the concentrated hair care composition from the mechanical foam dispenser as a dosage of foam; applying the foam to the hair; and rinsing the foam from the hair. The foam has a density of from about 0.025 g/cm.sup.3 to about 0.3 g/cm.sup.3 when dispensed from the mechanical foam dispenser.
