METHODS OF PROVIDING ANALGESIA
A solid oral controlled-release oral dosage form of hydrocodone is disclosed. The dosage form comprising an analgesically effective amount of hydrocodone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a sufficient amount of a controlled release material to render the dosage form suitable for twice-a-day administration to a human patient, the dosage form providing a C.sub.12/C.sub.max ratio of 0.55 to 0.85, said dosage form providing a therapeutic effect for at least about 12 hours.
COMPOSITION COMPRISING COMBINATION OF RAPAMYCIN AND AN ACTIVATOR OF AMP KINASE AND USE THEREOF FOR TREATING DISEASES
A formulation, especially one that is topically administered, comprising a combination of rapamcycin and metformin in a molar ratio of about 20:1, 10:1, 5:1, 4:1, 3:1, or 1:1. The topical formulation may be a gel, an ointment, a cream or a lotion. The topical formulation may be used to treat any disease associated with inflammation and/or any inflammatory skin disease.
METHODS OF MANUFACTURING ORAL DOSAGE FORMS
A solid oral controlled-release oral dosage form of hydrocodone is disclosed. The dosage form comprising an analgesically effective amount of hydrocodone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a sufficient amount of a controlled release material to render the dosage form suitable for twice-a-day administration to a human patient, the dosage form providing a C.sub.12/C.sub.max ratio of 0.55 to 0.85, said dosage form providing a therapeutic effect for at least about 12 hours.
NOVEL METHOD FOR THE TOPICAL APPLICATION OF VETERINARY AGENTS
The invention relates to compositions and to the methods of administration thereof. More specifically, it relates to an optimised method for the administration of active agents to non-human mammals by means of topical application of pre-determined doses.
Formulation for providing an enteric coating material
The present invention relates to an enteric coating formulation, as well as methods for preparing and using said enteric coating formulation. In particular, the invention relates to an enteric coating formulation that is made up of foodeous approved materials.
Microneedle device including a peptide therapeutic agent and an amino acid and methods of making and using the same
A medical device including an array of microneedles and a coating disposed on or within the microneedles and a method of making such a device are disclosed. The coating includes a peptide therapeutic agent and an amino acid. A method of stabilizing a peptide therapeutic agent with an amino acid on an array of microneedles is also disclosed. In some cases, the peptide therapeutic agent and the amino acid either both have a net positive charge or both have a net negative charge. In some cases, the peptide therapeutic agent is histidine.
NOVEL FORMULATION OF DICLOFENAC
The present invention relates to methods for producing particles of diclofenac using dry milling processes as well as compositions comprising diclofenac, medicaments produced using diclofenac in particulate form and/or compositions, and to methods of treatment of an animal, including man, using a therapeutically effective amount of diclofenac administered by way of said medicaments.
METHODS OF DIAGNOSING AND TREATING SMALL INTESTINAL BACTERIAL OVERGROWTH (SIBO) AND SIBO-RELATED CONDITIONS
Disclosed is a method of treating small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) or a SIBO-caused condition in a human subject. SIBO-caused conditions include irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic pelvic pain syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, impaired mentation, impaired memory, halitosis, tinnitus, sugar craving, autism, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, drug sensitivity, an autoimmune disease, and Crohn's disease. Also disclosed are a method of screening for the abnormally likely presence of SIBO in a human subject and a method of detecting SIBO in a human subject. A method of determining the relative severity of SIBO or a SIBO-caused condition in a human subject, in whom small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) has been detected, is also disclosed.
CONTROLLED RELEASE HYDROCODONE FORMULATIONS
A solid oral controlled-release oral dosage form of hydrocodone is disclosed. The dosage form comprising an analgesically effective amount of hydrocodone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a sufficient amount of a controlled release material to render the dosage form suitable for twice-a-day administration to a human patient, the dosage form providing a C.sub.12/C.sub.max ratio of 0.55 to 0.85, said dosage form providing a therapeutic effect for at least about 12 hours.
Self-Retaining Implantable Drug Delivery Device
Disclosed herein is a medical device for extended release of drugs. The device comprises a stent embedded with one or more drug depots that release of a therapeutic agent in a controlled manner. Each end of the stent may contain one or more anchors or attachment points which enable self-retention of the medical device once properly placed. The disclosed device further comprises a biosensor to monitor physiological characteristics like, e.g., intraocular pressure (IOP).
