Certain-shaped joint material for hot installation

It is intended to suppress flaming and smoking due to combustion of combustible substances in a certain-shaped joint material, while maintaining hot sealability of the certain-shaped joint material. A certain-shaped joint material for hot installation is obtained by: adding organic additives to a blend in a combined amount of 26 mass % to 50 mass %, with respect to and in addition to 100 mass % of the blend, wherein the blend comprises 50 mass % to 90 mass % of gibbsite type aluminum hydroxide raw material, 1 mass % to 9 mass % of clay, and 9 mass % to 23 mass % of graphite, with the remainder mainly composed of an additional refractory raw material; and subjecting the resulting mixture to kneading, forming and drying.

The idle position of the latches allows the engagement of the ladle shroud into its casting configuration about the collector nozzle, and the fixing position of the latches engages catches provided on said latches into matching fasteners located on the gate frame holding the collector nozzle.

IMMERSION NOZZLE REPLACEMENT METHOD

In the method for replacing an immersion nozzle while pushing out a used immersion nozzle by a new immersion nozzle, in order to minimize leakage of molten steel during the replacement, to enable the use of a shaped joint sealer in a joint interface, and to ensure high sealability, a concave portion is formed on the new immersion nozzle's upper plane so as to include a nozzle hole, and the shaped joint sealer is mounted in this concave portion. The immersion nozzle's upper plane is caused to slide while being pressed to the upper nozzle's lower plane.

Immersion nozzle

An immersion nozzle for use with an immersion nozzle replacement apparatus, capable of preventing crack formation due to the presence of a neck region. The immersion nozzle includes a nozzle body, a flange, and a metal casing. The nozzle body is formed such that a region of an outer peripheral surface thereof located above a point of power of an upward supporting force from a supporting device extends vertically up to an upper edge of the nozzle body without any dimensional change with respect to an central axis of an inner bore of the nozzle body. The outer peripheral surface region is not joined to the metal casing.

An immersion nozzle exchanging apparatus and an upper nozzle capable of preventing damage to a plate of the upper nozzle are provided. An immersion nozzle exchanging apparatus is mounted on a lower portion of a molten steel outlet of a tundish. The immersion nozzle exchanging apparatus includes a support and a flap. The support has a support surface to support a lower surface of a plate of an upper nozzle inserted into the molten steel outlet. The flap is rotatable with respect to the support. The immersion nozzle exchanging apparatus further includes a rotation stopper for the flap. The rotation stopper includes a wedge to abut against the flap by projecting to an upper side of the flap, and a bolt connected to the wedge, and enables adjustment of a projection amount of the wedge by adjusting a fastening amount of the bolt.
