The base binder alloy comprises from 66 to 93 wt.-% of nickel, from 7 to 34 wt.-% of iron, and from 0 to 9 wt.-% of cobalt, wherein the wt.-% proportions of the base binder alloy add up to 100 wt.-%.

LOW TEMPERATURE BRIQUETTE OF FINES BEARING IRON AND OTHER METALS
20230167524 · 2023-06-01 ·

A method for processing fines bearing iron or other metals, such as manganese, bauxite, boron, chromium, iron-nickel and/or ferrous slags, from various possible sources, possibly with the addition of self-reducing agents and other minerals for chemical adjustment, with particle size up to 6.3 mm (through ¼ inch sieve), directly into the intense mixer, with a set of binders in specific proportions, aiming to optimize physical and metallurgical properties of the briquettes with minimal binder addition, thus not compromising the quality of steel or other metal products. The binders are starch, sodium silicate and a base such as sodium hydroxide. The mixture with adjusted moisture content goes through a conventional briquetting roller press. The green briquettes then undergo drying with forced air at around 150° C. for a short time, or at ambient temperature for a longer time. The briquettes obtained have excellent metallurgical properties, and sufficient physical resistance for handling and transport, without the high and undesirable economic and environmental costs of the hot briquetting process.

COMPRESSED POWDER BODY

A compressed powder body comprises metal particles and an interposed substance which is interposed between the metal particles. Each of the metal particles is made of FeSiAl-based soft magnetic alloy and has a flat shape when seen along a predetermined direction. The metal particles include one or more of the metal particles each of which is formed with one or more predetermined holes. Each of the predetermined holes passes through the metal particle in the predetermined direction. Each of the predetermined holes has a maximum width in a predetermined plane perpendicular to the predetermined direction the maximum width being equal to or larger than a thickness of the metal particle with the predetermined hole in the predetermined direction.

DUST CORE

The iron loss of a dust core is reduced. A dust core (1) includes soft magnetic metal particles (3) having an average particle size of 5 μm or more and 30 μm or less, and a particle boundary phase (6). The particle boundary phase (6) includes a polycrystalline compound containing Al (aluminum). When a sectional structure of the dust core (1) is observed, an area percentage of α-Al.sub.2O.sub.3 in the particle boundary phase (6) is 75% or less. An average thickness Ta of the particle boundary phase (6) is 10 nm or more and 300 nm or less. According to the present invention, the iron loss is reduced.
