SYNTHESIS OF NANOSCALE METAL FEEDSTOCK FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

A method of making a metal-polymer composite includes dealloying metallic powder to yield porous metal particles, monitoring a temperature of the mixture, controlling the rate of combining, a maximum temperature of the mixture, or both, and combining the porous metal particles with a polymer to yield a composite. Dealloying includes combining the metallic powder with an etchant to yield a mixture. A metal-polymer composite includes porous metal particles having an average particle size of about 0.2 μm to about 500 μm and a thermoplastic or thermoset polymer. The polymer composite comprises at least 10 vol % of the porous metal particles. A powder mixture includes porous metal particles having an average particle size of about 0.2 μm to about 500 μm and a metal powder. The powder mixture includes about 1 wt % to about 99 wt % of the porous metal particles.

SPHERICAL POWDER FOR MAKING 3D OBJECTS

A spherical powder for manufacturing a three-dimensional component. The spherical powder is an alloy powder which has at least two refractory metals. The alloy powder has a homogeneous microstructure and at least two crystalline phases.

In-situ additive implants

Methods for growing spinal implants in situ using a surgical additive-manufacturing system. In one aspect, the method includes positioning a dispenser at least partially within an interbody space, between a first patient vertebra and a second patient vertebra. The method includes maneuvering the dispensing component within the space to deposit printing material forming an interbody implant part, positioning the dispensing component adjacent the vertebrae, and maneuvering the dispenser adjacent the vertebrae to deposit printing material on an exterior surface of each vertebrae and in contact with the interbody implant part forming an extrabody implant part connected to the interbody implant part and vertebrae, yielding the spinal implant grown in situ connecting the first vertebra to the second vertebra. The extrabody part can be printed around anchors affixed to the vertebrae, and the anchors may be printed in the process.

Systems and methods for additive manufacturing of a golf club having an insert structure

A golf club head includes a body and an insert. The body defines a top side, a toe side, and a heel side, and includes a sole extending between the toe side and the heel side at a location on the body opposite to the top side. The body defines an internal volume defined between a ball-striking face and an internal wall. The insert is arranged within the internal volume and is formed layer by layer via an additive manufacturing process. The insert includes a lattice structure arranged between a rear surface of the ball-striking face and the internal wall. The lattice structure is in engagement with the rear surface and formed integrally with the ball-striking face and the internal wall.

Method for modular additive manufacturing of a component and a component

A method for the additive manufacturing of a component having the following steps: additively building up multiple sub-sections for the component using a powder bed-based method, arranging the sub-sections to form a composite and additively completing the component, wherein material is deposited, by a deposition welding method, along a peripheral direction around the composite of the sub-sections in such a way that the sub-sections are integrally bonded to each other.
