Peptides and Their Use in the Treatment of Skin
Provided are methods of diminishing the signs of aging and/or improving the health of human integuments, such as skin, and compositions comprising peptides useful therefor. The compositions according to the invention comprise a peptide comprising the sequence selected from LRLK (SEQ ID NO: 1), MVV (SEQ ID NO: 2), TAKDGAP (SEQ ID NO: 3), IFGGTVYRS (SEQ ID NO: 4), and RTPKISKPIKFELSG (SEQ ID NO: 5) or a derivative, or fragment thereof, in a topically acceptable vehicle.

An active constituent complex includes an active carrier, an anti-inflammatory agent, a collagen synthesis enhancer, an anti-wrinkle agent, and a keratinocyte growth factor stimulant. The sesquiterpenoid compound according to the present invention, the extracts of Cyperus rotundus comprising the same or fractions thereof exhibit excellent estrogenic activity or anti-allergic activity, and therefore they can be used for the prevention or treatment of menopausal diseases caused by a decline in estrogen level or by allergic diseases.
