Tool retainer
A tool retainer is provided. The tool has a retainer sleeve having a longitudinal external tab to engage with an internal recessed radial groove with a tool holder, and wherein the retainer sleeve has two internal radial tabs that engage with a recessed groove in a rotating tool shank. A cutting tool assembly including a cutting bit and the retainer sleeve is provided.
GEOMETRICAL CALCULATIONS FOR TARGETED LOCAL FEM MESH REFINEMENT IN FINISH TURNING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods for mesh refinement of finite element analysis simulations employ an analytical modeling program configured to identify a location of contact between two components and a finite element analysis program configured to use the identified location to perform finite element mesh refinement. In this regard, the location of contact (and location of desired mesh refinement) is identified using analytical modeling. Said location of contact is then provided to the finite element analysis program for determining precisely where to perform mesh refinement on the finite element mesh. The finite element analysis program performs a mesh refinement at the exact location of contact between two components to provide for optimized and more efficient finite element analysis.
Rotary cutting tool and cutting tool parts
The invention describes a rotary cutting tool, in particular a drill, which comprises a first cutting tool part having at least one cutting edge and a second cutting tool part which comprises a cutting tool shank. The first cutting tool part and the second cutting tool part are releasably connected to one another via a coupling mechanism which comprises a coupling cam that is mounted on one of the two cutting tool parts such that it can rotate about an axis of rotation and, in a coupling position, abuts an engagement surface on the other cutting tool part. The invention also presents a cutting tool part, in particular a cutting tool base, and a further cutting tool part, in particular a cutting tip.
Bit for Removing a Plug From a Branch Conduit
In one aspect, a bit for removing a plug from a branch conduit extending from a main pipe has a boring head at a distal end portion of a shaft configured to bore a pilot hole in the plug. A catch on the shaft is configured to pass through the pilot hole and then engage the plug after the pilot hole is bored for pushing the plug proximally. A burr proximal of the boring head is configured to remove a portion of the plug to separate a removable section from a durable section of the plug. In a method of restoring fluid communication between a main pipe and a branch conduit, the bit bores a pilot hole with the boring head, separates the removable section from the durable section with the burr, and then with the catch, withdraws the removable section only.

CUTTING TOOL AND CUTTING PROCESSING DEVICE
A cutting tool is rotatable about an axis line, and includes a main body portion, a cutting insert, and a plurality of anti-vibration members. The main body portion has an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface opposite to the inner circumferential surface. The cutting insert is attached to at least one of the inner circumferential surface and the outer circumferential surface. Each of the plurality of anti-vibration members is provided at the main body portion. Each of the plurality of anti-vibration members includes a weight member composed of a material having a specific gravity larger than a specific gravity of a material of the main body portion.

Cutting tool and tool holder having separate rear abutment and wedged rear stopper surfaces
A cutting tool includes a holder and a cutting insert releasably clamped in the holder. The holder has a rear pocket surface which includes a pocket abutment surface and an adjacent pocket wedge surface. The cutting insert has at least one abutment surface and an adjacent wedge surface. When the cutting tool is assembled but not in use, the pocket abutment surface of the holder abuts the abutment surface of the cutting insert, and the wedge surface of the holder is facing and spaced apart from the wedge surface of the cutting insert. During cutting operations, the wedge surface of the insert may abut against the wedge surface of the holder.
