Each interchangeable holder includes two interchangeable-holder guiding elements which are engaged with base-holder guiding elements of the base holder. Furthermore, each interchangeable holder comprises an interchangeable-holder coolant channel comprising an interchangeable-holder coolant-channel opening in one of the interchangeable-holder guiding elements, which comes into contact with a base-holder coolant-channel opening of a base-holder coolant channel, which is arranged on a base-holder guiding element. First guiding elementseither the interchangeable-holder guiding elements or the base-holder guiding elementshave a convex semicircular cross-section. The cross-section has a flat area containing the vertex of the semicircle, or it has two widened areas which are arranged in mirror symmetry on the semicircle. The guiding elements that engage with the first guiding elements have a concave circular-sector-type cross-section with a central angle of less than 180.
TOOL CARRIER ASSEMBLY FOR USE AT A LATHE AND LATHE HAVING SUCH TOOL CARRIER ASSEMBLY
A tool carrier assembly for use at a machine tool, which includes at least one workpiece-carrying spindle for rotatably driving a workpiece received in the workpiece-carrying spindle. The tool carrier assembly includes a first slide being movable in a first direction, a tool carrier being supported on the first slide and configured to hold a plurality of tools, a tool drive unit including a tool drive for engaging with one of the plurality of tools held by the tool carrier to rotatably drive said tool, when tool is arranged at a tool drive position with respect to the tool drive, and a drive mechanism for driving movement of the first slide together with the tool carrier in the first direction relative to the tool drive position, when the tool drive is disengaged with tool, to relatively move another tool of the plurality of tools into the tool drive position.
Automatic device for locking tool-holders on lathes and machines which perform machining with chip removal
An automatic device for locking of tool holders (12) on lathes and machinery performing machining by chip removal, particularly suitable to be used on multi-spindle and single spindle CNC lathes, on transfer machines, milling centres of any kind and, in general, on all types of machine tools which perform machining by chip removal, comprises a support body (14) anchored to the machine tool and surmounted by a plate (16), said device comprises, for each of said tool-holders (12), a pawl (18) provided with a female truncated-cone recess (24), cooperating with a nut screw (36) and moved automatically vertically to engage in contact with a truncated cone collar appendage (40) made in a recess (38) in the rear (12). The movement in the vertical direction of the pawls (18) is produced by means of individual motors (46), equipped with a shaft (48) which protrudes from their lower face and engages to the upper end of said nut screw (36).
Tool body having an inner insert receiving pocket with resilient clamping member, cutting tool and chamfering cutting insert therefor
A cutting tool includes a tool body having a peripherally disposed outer insert receiving pocket and an interiorly disposed inner insert receiving pocket with a cutting insert resiliently clamped therein. The tool body includes a through recess at least partially circumferentially bounded by a recess circumferential surface. A resilient clamping member extends into the through recess. The inner insert receiving pocket is formed by the resilient clamping member and a recess pocket portion of the recess circumferential surface. A chamfering cutting insert may be retained by the resilient clamping member, without the use of an additional, separate clamping device.
Tool, template, cassette, and method for grooving a roller
The tool according to the invention comprises a tool body and a cassette for machining a roller. At least one machining device can be fastened, in particular detachably, onto and/or in the cassette. In particular, the machining device is a cutting device, preferably for grooving a roller. The tool has a positioning device for orienting the cassette in the tool body at a predetermined position.
