METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LOCATING AND FORMING FASTENER HOLES IN A REPLACEMENT TIP SECTION OF A ROTOR BLADE

A system for regenerating fastener holes in a replacement tip section of a rotor blade includes a first fixture, a second fixture, and a third fixture positionable adjacent a tip section of the rotor blade. The first fixture is used to verify a position of an opening formed in the spar. The second fixture includes a removable bushing having a drillable opening. The drillable opening is aligned with the at least one opening formed in the spar and defines at least one hole to be formed in the replacement tip section. The third fixture includes a countersink opening. The countersink opening is aligned with the at least one hole to be formed in the replacement tip section and the at least one opening formed in the spar to define a countersink feature to be formed in the at least one hole.

Power tool apparatus and a method of use of the same

The current invention provides apparatus and a method for use with a drill bit to form a hole in a workpiece, said apparatus including a clamping means to clamp a workpiece in which the hole is to be formed in position with the apparatus, a drill bit holder assembly and drive means for rotating the drill bit and moving the same into the workpiece so as to drill the hole at a required angle and depth into the workpiece. Typically the depth of the hole is set in relation to the thickness of the workpiece which is clamped in position at that time and the apparatus includes a first part which is held by a first hand of the user and movable by the user with respect to a second part which is held by a second hand of the user and the relative movement is translated into movement of the drill bit holder to move the rotating drill bit into the workpiece.

Positioning jig

A positioning jig for locating drill holes or other targets in a workpiece on which the positioning jig is positioned. The positioning jig includes a pinion body and a pair of arms extending from the pinion body. The pair of arms are engaged with a pinion in the pinion body to provide a rack and pinion mechanism for centering the positioning jig on a workpiece. A jig body including at least one aperture is connected with the pinion body. The jig body may be translated with respect to the pinion body for locating the at least one aperture at a target point on the workpiece for drilling a hole or marking the workpiece.

Systems and methods of a guide for widening an existing drilled hole
11045884 · 2021-06-29 ·

The present technology presents system of a guide for widening a drilled hole. In various embodiments the system comprises a hub including a circular central member and a plurality of slots for shims around a circumference of the circular central member. Embodiments include a plurality of shims with the plurality of shims being fit into the plurality of slots around the circumference of the circular central member. Furthermore, the plurality of shims each include a narrow end and a wide end with the narrow end of each of the plurality of shims being in a same direction and the wide end of each of the plurality of shims being in an opposite direction to the narrow end allowing for the guide to fit securely into the existing hole before drilling the new hole.

DOCKING STATION SYSTEM

A docking station system is presented for use with pocket hole jigs and other jigs and tools. The docking station system is configured to receive and connect with a pocket hole jig, other jigs, and/or tool to facilitate easy installation and use thereof. In one or more arrangements, the docking system has hinge members that allow for the connection of side supports. Side supports include a base member and a cover member and have a hollow interior for storage. Side supports rotate upon docking station system between an extended position and a retracted position and may be locked in the retracted position for storage and transport. When side supports are in an extended position, the upper surface of the side supports are in flush alignment with the upper surface of the base of the pocket hole jig installed upon the docking station.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DRILLING HOLES AND INSTALLING FASTENERS IN VEHICLE STRUCTURES

A system and method for drilling a hole in a vehicle structure and installing a fastener in the hole. A drill plate having openings and associated machine-readable elements is positioned on the structure. A drill gun is positioned in a particular opening and reads hole information from the associated element, and a computer determines whether the drill gun is properly set-up to drill the hole. A fastener insertion gun is positioned in the particular opening and reads fastener information from the element, and the computer determines whether the hole has been drilled and, if so, whether the fastener insertion gun is properly set-up to insert the fastener. A fastener delivery subsystem stores, tracks, and delivers fasteners to the fastener insertion gun. A system computer monitors the drilling of every hole, the insertion of every fastener, and the overall operation of the fastener delivery subsystem.

POCKET HOLE JIG
