20200215624 · 2020-07-09 ·

A drilling tool has a working piece retained by a retainer mounted to a collar. The working piece includes a distal shank and a cutting section and is rotationally fixed relative to the retainer. The retainer may include an engagement protrusion positioned outward of the shank with the protrusion engaging an inner surface of the collar or the collar may include an engagement protrusion with the protrusion engaging an inner surface of the retainer to create a quasi-floating relationship between the retainer and collar. The cutting section may have a distal primary bore cutting sub-section and a proximal counterbore cutting sub-section. The collar includes a lower surface for abutment against a building member during drilling operation to halt axial movement of the tool.

Method and apparatus for limiting equipment burden when penetrating a mixed or composite material structure including metal utilizing a hammer-drill

A method employing an apparatus in conjunction with a hammer-drill to penetrate composite metal and non-metal structure or structures including, for example, thick metal or rebar encountered during concrete, rock or masonry boring operations without requiring a change in drill equipment.

A countersinking tool, comprising a tool shank and a tool head with multiple deburring or countersinking edges and an insertion pin. In some embodiments, the insertion pin features at least one reaming edge, on a radially outer side and extends over less than 33% of the overall length of the insertion pin, wherein the reaming edge can be inserted into an unfinished bore with a diameter, smaller than a nominal diameter of the bore, in a cutting fashion, wherein the reaming edge acts as a drill bit and is arranged on the insertion pin at a radius that corresponds to the radius of a nominal diameter of the bore, and wherein the insertion pin has the nominal diameter of the bore and can be guided in the bore without play. Also, a tool arrangement with a countersinking tool and to a method for producing a countersunk and/or deburred bore.

TOOL ALIGNMENT DEVICE
20200016666 · 2020-01-16 · ·

A tool alignment device for mounting on a tool having a stop, especially on a drilling and/or countersinking tool having a single-piece tool shaft and a stop, for alignment of a drill hole and/or countersink to be introduced or for alignment of a finishing step in relation to a normal to the surface of a workpiece, comprising a main part and a through hole. Upon mechanical contact between the tool alignment device and the surface of the workpiece, a signaling device is actuated and emits alignment signal(s) during alignment in an alignment direction, and the stop of the tool can be accommodated in the main part, which comprises a guide device which establishes a connection between a stop sleeve of the stop and the tool alignment device such that the stop can be aligned in the alignment direction. Also, a drilling, milling and/or countersinking tool having a stop.

Systems and Devices for Adjustable Door Closure Control
20200011110 · 2020-01-09 ·

Disclosed are systems and devices for controlling the closing of a door. A head unit is to be installed in a doorjamb, comprising a chamber filled at least in part with a shear thickening fluid. A piston is connected to a cap and configured to exert pressure against the shear thickening fluid in response to a force applied to the cap. The systems and devices provide an adjustable design that resists door slamming and aggressive closure, serving as a safety device as well as noise, damage and pet control around doors (preventing closure if desired). An install kit provides exact location, depth control and guide to place over the head unit to tap it into place with a hammer.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING A WORKING DEPTH OF A TOOL AND TOOL FOR MACHINING A WORKPIECE
20240091865 · 2024-03-21 ·

The invention relates to a method for determining a working depth of a tool. The method includes arranging a tool and a depth determination device on a depth setting device; and applying a predetermined compression force in axial direction to the depth determination device, such that at least a part of the depth determination device is elastically compressed by a certain compression amount against a contact surface, obtaining a compressed state of the depth determination device. The method further includes securing a mounting device to a clamping region of a shaft of the tool in the compressed state of the depth determination device such that the mounting device is firmly mounted to the clamping region, whereby a tool assembly is formed; releasing the compression force from the depth determination device, and removing the tool assembly from the depth setting device.

Auto-adjustable pocket hole jig docking station
11931812 · 2024-03-19 ·

An auto-adjusting pocket hole jig docking station including a housing and an adjustment mechanism. The adjustment mechanism carried by the housing and including a first rack and a second rack reciprocally movable between raised and lowered positions, relative the body. A double pinion gear is rotatably carried by the housing with a first gear in meshing engagement with the first rack and a second gear in meshing engagement with the second rack. The first gear and the second gear having a rotational ratio therebetween wherein movement of one of the first rack and the second rack moves the other of the first rack and the second rack a distance proportional to the rotational ratio.

Generic depth indicator for surgical navigational tools
11890061 · 2024-02-06 · ·

A depth-indicating device for determining the depth of insertion of a surgical tool comprising a pair of spaced apart end caps, separated by a compressed spring, with the surgical tool passing through axial openings in both end caps, and firmly attached to one of the end caps, but free to slide through the opening in the other. A guide tube is attached to the second endcap, such that the surgical tool can be guided to its operating position on a body part. The second end cap and guide tube are attached to a location having a known position relative to the body part. A tracking marker is attached to the first end cap such that its longitudinal position can be tracked using a remote racking camera. Since the surgical tool is attached to the first end cap, the tool position is also tracked by the tracking system.
