APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR GUIDING A DRILL BIT TO FORM A HOLE
An assembly for guiding a drill bit of a drill assembly comprises a chassis and a centering bushing, comprising an exterior conical portion and a central opening. The assembly further comprises a vacuum-cup bracket, coupled to the chassis and adjustably positionable relative to the chassis along a second axis. The assembly also comprises vacuum cups, coupled to the vacuum-cup bracket. The assembly additionally comprises a pressure foot, coupled to the chassis at the first end of the chassis and adjustably positionable relative to the chassis along the second axis.
Method and tool for reconditioning a damaged thread
It is described a method for reconditioning a damaged thread (8) of a transmission (1) of a hover-capable aircraft; the damaged thread (8) being arranged inside a first hole (23a) of the transmission (1); wherein the method includes the following steps: i) centering a tool (20) on the first hole (23a); ii) inserting a first tool (25) inside the tool (20) centred on the first hole (23a) and removing the damaged thread (8) through the first tool (25); iii) inserting a second tool (26) inside the tool (20) and creating a new thread (16) inside the first hole (23a) having a diameter larger than the one of the damaged thread (8); iv) screwing an insert (61) having a thread inside the new thread (16), so that the insert (61) engages the first hole (23a) and defines a reconditioned thread (8′); and v) keeping the transmission (1) mounted on the hover-capable aircraft during steps i), ii), iii), iv).
DRILLING AID
A device for enlarging a hole with a frustoconical base body that can be inserted into a hole of a workpiece, and has an insertion opening for inserting a pilot drill of a hole saw. The frustoconical shell surface of the base body has a self-tapping thread, which can engage into the wall of the hole to be enlarged. A screwdriver is provided to apply the correspondingly large torque.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DRILLING HOLES AND INSTALLING FASTENERS IN VEHICLE STRUCTURES
A system and method for drilling a hole in a vehicle structure and installing a fastener in the hole. A drill plate having openings and associated machine-readable elements is positioned on the structure. A drill gun is positioned in a particular opening and reads hole information from the associated element, and a computer determines whether the drill gun is properly set-up to drill the hole. A fastener insertion gun is positioned in the particular opening and reads fastener information from the element, and the computer determines whether the hole has been drilled and, if so, whether the fastener insertion gun is properly set-up to insert the fastener. A fastener delivery subsystem stores, tracks, and delivers fasteners to the fastener insertion gun. A system computer monitors the drilling of every hole, the insertion of every fastener, and the overall operation of the fastener delivery subsystem.
SYSTEM AND DEVICES FOR ADJUSTABLE DOOR CLOSURE CONTROL
Disclosed are systems and devices for controlling the closing of a door. A head unit is to be installed in a doorjamb, comprising a chamber filled at least in part with a shear thickening fluid. A piston is connected to a cap and configured to exert pressure against the shear thickening fluid in response to a force applied to the cap. The systems and devices provide an adjustable design that resists door slamming and aggressive closure, serving as a safety device as well as noise, damage and pet control around doors (preventing closure if desired). An install kit provides exact location, depth control and guide to place over the head unit to tap it into place with a hammer.
