Rotary Cutter for Cutting Damaged Threads of a Bolt
20190143418 · 2019-05-16 ·

A rotary cutter for cutting damaged threads of a bolt includes a body rotatable about a rotating axis and having a connecting end and an operative end. A first cutting blade is disposed on an inner periphery of the body facing a cutting space extending along the rotating axis from the operative end towards but spaced from the connecting end. The body further includes a virtual projection plane perpendicular to the rotating axis. A first virtual plane passes through the first cutting blade and extends perpendicularly to the virtual projection plane. A virtual circle and a first virtual reference line are located on the virtual projection plane. The first virtual reference line intersects the rotating axis and passes through an intersection of the first virtual plane and the virtual circle. An angle between the first virtual reference line and the first virtual plane is between 5 and 40.

Deburr-It Bit

The Deburr-It Bit is a versatile tool bit designed to be used manually with smaller size circular hollow ridged tubing or with a motorized drill during the installation of all types and sizes of circular hollow ridged tubing. The function of the Deburr-It Bit is to remove burr that is formed on said tubing when the tubing is cut with various types of saws and cutting tools. In most cases, the removal of burr allows the circular hollow ridged tubing to easily slip into the manufactured fitting orifice found on all fittings which could include elbows, valves, couplings, adaptors, and most types of connectors. It should also be noted here, that removal of burr, on the inside edge of circular hollow ridged tubing, is necessary to have a smooth unrestricted surface for the best fluid flow possible. The purpose of this Deburr-It Bit is to completely remove burr from the inside edge of said tubing, the outside edge of said tubing, and release burr waste debris particles to the atmosphere at the same time during said bit rotation. What is unique is the beveled circular double-wall V-shaped abrasion cavity surfaces of the Deburr-It Bit, that when in contact with said tubing, will remove the burr from both the inside edge of circular hollow ridged tubing and outside edge of circular hollow ridged tubing at the same time and in a shorter amount of time, resulting in two smooth unrestricted tubing surfaces. There is no need for expensive machinery.

Tools and methods for refacing tubular ends forming a threaded connection

A refacing tool includes a feed assembly that holds a first set of cutters positioned for refacing the inner shoulder of a pin or box end of a tubular and a second set of cutters positioned for refacing the outer shoulder of the pin or box end. The axial spacing between the first set of cutters and the second set of cutters is fixed and determined by the geometry of the feed assembly. The refacing tool can simultaneously reface the inner shoulder and the outer shoulder, as well as chamfers.

Deburring Tool

A deburring tool has a hollow top portion having an interior conical surface and an exterior surface. The exterior surface of the deburring tool is preferably conical. The top portion has a plurality of flutes formed therein and extending between the interior and exterior surfaces. Each of the flutes has a cutting edge formed at the interior conical surface. In operation, rotation of the deburring tool about a longitudinal axis removes burrs projecting from bar stock contacting the interior conical surface. A method of deburring bar stock comprises: (a) rotating the deburring tool about a longitudinal axis, and (b) contacting the bar stock to the deburring tool interior conical surface.
