A rotary tool may include a body having a first part, a second part, a third part, a first cutting edge located at a first end, a flute extending from the first cutting edge toward a second end, and an outer peripheral surface. The outer peripheral surface in the third part may have a first portion. The third part may have a land face, and a second cutting edge located on a ridge line where a first portion and the land face intersect. The land face may have a first region in which a width increases from a side of the first end toward a side of the second end, and a second region that is located closer to the second end than the first region in which a width decreases from a side of the first end toward the second end.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INTEGRATION OF DRILLING AND INTERFERENCE-FIT PIN INSERTION

An apparatus and method are provided for integration of drilling and interference-fit pin insertion. The apparatus includes a station switching module, a spindle module, and a pin insertion module. The station switching module is configured to drill and countersink a panel connecting hole. The pin insertion module is configured for interference-fit pin insertion of a hi-lock bolt. Hence, by using the apparatus, after the drilling of a hole to be drilled is completed, the station switching module is rotated by a fixed angle so that station states of the spindle module and the pin insertion module can be switched, the interference-fit pin insertion of the hi-lock bolts can be completed, and the anti-fatigue property and assembly efficiency can be improved.

ACTIVE-PRESSURE HOLE FINISHING TOOL

Provided is cutting tool. The tool, in certain examples, includes a drill body that defines a drill axis, and a tool window formed in the drill body. The tool also includes a drill bit extending from the drill body, and a material reworking attachment (MRA) coupled to the drill body and storable within the tool window. The MRA is extendable from a stored position into either a surface-finishing position or a material-removal position. The MRA includes a first chamfering blade, a second chamfering blade, and a finishing surface interposed between the chamfering blades. The tool also includes a position manager to detect a position of the cutting tool with reference to a workpiece, and an actuator to transition the MRA from the stored position to the material-removal position, followed by a transition to the surface-finishing position, and followed by a transition to material-removal position.

Self-aligning counter bore cutting tool and method of operation

A self-aligning counter bore cutting tool and method detachably attaches to a drill, and is rotatably driven by the drill, so as to cut a counter bore into a subfloor. The cutting tool includes an annular frame that has unique arm slots for retaining a plurality of cutting blades in a fixed position while rotating and cutting. A plurality of fastening blocks work to securely retain the blades in the arm slots. At least one oversized depth restriction frame extends beyond the blades to restrict the blades from cutting the counter bore beyond a predetermined depth. The frame includes a protruding shaft bushing that securely receives a drill chuck from the drill to create a secure, aligned coupling to the drill. The shaft bushing also aligns the blades with a mudsill fastening plate in the subfloor, so as to create a concentric counter bore at the appropriate depth in subfloor.

COMBINATION DRILL, MILL, AND BORING TOOL

Disclosed is a combination tool having a plurality of cutting elements. According to one embodiment, the combination tool comprises a drilling portion, a milling portion, and a boring portion. In this embodiment, the combination tool may perform a drilling operation, a milling operation, and a boring operation in quick succession with a single cutting tool. In another embodiment, the combination tool includes an additional cutting element such as a chamfering portion, which may perform a countersinking operation.
