DRILL
A blade section has two lands and two flutes in an alternating manner and also has a linear chisel edge. The lands are each provided with: a margin section that is continuous with a cutting blade; a clearance section that is continuous with the margin section and that has a smaller diameter than the margin section; and a pad that is continuous with the clearance section and that has the same width as the width of the margin section.
DRILL BIT FOR DRILLING LAMINATES
A drill bit for drilling laminates includes at least two main chip flutes separated by corresponding webs. The free end faces of the webs form relief surfaces. At least one secondary flute, which is formed in the periphery of each of the webs divides the web into a main and a secondary web. A main cutting edge is formed by the intersection of a main chip flute and a relief surface on the main web. A secondary cutting edge is formed by the intersection of the secondary flute with a relief surface on the secondary web following the main cutting edge in the direction of operation, the main cutting edges extending to the nominal radius of the drill. The secondary cutting edges terminate at a distance before the nominal radius and axially project from the main cutting edge by an axial overhang at least along their radially outer section.
DRILL
A drill of the present invention includes: a drill main body; a plurality of convex-arc cutting edges which are formed on a tip side of the drill main body from an outer periphery of the drill main body to a chisel edge provided near to a rotational axis; second faces which are each formed in an approximately band shape and are each formed along each of the convex-arc cutting edges on a back side of the convex-arc cutting edge in the rotational direction; third faces which are each formed to be continuous with a back side of each of the second faces in the rotational direction; and fourth faces which are each formed to be continuous with a back side of each of the third faces in the rotational direction.
DRILLING TOOL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING DRILL HOELS
A drilling tool for producing drill holes includes a tip and a shaft arranged opposite the tip in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the drilling tool. The drilling tool has at least one geometrically defined cutting edge in the tip area, and has an expanded diameter trailing the tip in a longitudinal direction from the tip. The drilling tool has a first area with a first diameter that precedes the expanded diameter, and a second area with a second diameter, larger than the first diameter, that trails the expanded diameter. The drilling tool is distinguished in that the expanded diameter and/or the second area is/are embodied such that chips are produced in the area of the expanded diameter and/or in the second area when a workpiece is machined, chips consistent with those produced when a workpiece is machined with a geometrically undefined cutting edge.
Drill
A ridgeline between the thinning face and the flank face includes a first thinning portion contiguous to the outer cutting edge, and a second thinning portion contiguous to the first thinning portion. When viewed in a direction along the central axis, the first thinning portion is linear and the second thinning portion is curved. When viewed in the direction along the central axis, the first thinning portion, and a boundary between the first thinning portion and the second thinning portion are located rearward in a rotational direction relative to a first straight line, and are located forward in the rotational direction relative to a second straight line, the first straight line being a straight line passing through the central axis and parallel to the first thinning portion, and the second straight line being a straight line perpendicular to the first straight line.
Drill for carbon-fiber composite material
The drill of the invention has: two cutting edges, each having a main cutting edge and a thinned cutting edge, wherein two relief surfaces formed symmetrically around rotation axis, first and second margin portions are formed, the first margin portions have a forward-end small-diameter portion with diameter smaller than the drill diameter, that is formed from the side of the drill forward-end toward the drill rearward-end, the second margin portions have a second forward-end small-diameter portion with diameter smaller than the first forward-end small-diameter portion, that is formed from the side of the drill forward-end toward the side of the drill rearward-end, the first forward-end small-diameter portion and the second forward-end small-diameter portion have inclination portions, the diameters of which gradually increase from the side of the drill forward-end toward the side of the drill rearward-end, and the inclination portions of the first forward-end small-diameter portion have relief surfaces.
Drill
The outer peripheral surface is provided with a first margin contiguous to each of the cutting edge and the flank face, and a second margin that is located on the rear side with respect to the first margin in a rotation direction and that is separated from each of the flank face and the thinning face. An outer peripheral portion of the first margin and an outer peripheral portion of the second margin have respective back tapers having the same angle. In a direction parallel to the axial line, a distance between a front end of the first margin and a front end of the second margin is more than or equal to 3 mm and less than or equal to 5 mm.
