In one embodiment, a method may include delivering an disinfectant solution to PAP equipment, such as CPAP and BiPAP equipment, to disinfect the PAP equipment used by the patient, thereby preventing infection by the infectious diseases in the patient. The disinfectant solution may include an aqueous solution of hypochlorous acid. The hypochlorous acid may be between 30 parts per million (ppm) to 500 ppm of the aqueous solution.
