Bell-shaped cutter
Bell-shaped milling cutter for producing preferably profiled, arcuate grooves, has a main body in the form of a circular disk and a plurality of cutting edge carriers which extend substantially perpendicularly to the plane of the main body and which are arranged in succession in the peripheral direction along a circular path about the center of the main body and are mounted releasably to the main body. To provide a bell-shaped milling cutter having the features set out in the opening part of this specification, which permits simplified and less expensive production of arcuate grooves without having to forego the precise arrangement and orientation of the cutting bits of the known bell-shaped milling cutters, provided at the main body are positioning devices which permit mounting of the cutting edge carriers in a plurality of mutually different radial spacings on the main body.

FORMED ROTARY CUTTING TOOL
A formed rotary cutting tool includes a cutting edge defining a cutting edge diameter that is increased and reduced in a direction of an axis of the tool, so as to have at least one neck portion in which the cutting edge diameter is minimized. The cutting tool includes a roughing portion which is provided on a periphery thereof and which is constituted by a succession of protrusions and recesses arranged in the direction of the axis. The roughing portion includes (i) a fine roughing portion that is provided in at least one of the at least one neck portion, and (ii) another portion that is provided in a portion that is other than the at least one of the at least one neck portion. The fine roughing portion of the roughing portion is different in characteristics from the above-described another portion of the roughing portion.

Golf club head with textured striking face
A golf club head includes a heel portion, a toe portion, a hosel, and a striking face. The striking face includes a plurality of scorelines each having an average depth no less than about 0.10 mm, a plurality of first micro-grooves each having an average depth no greater than about 0.010 mm, and a plurality of second micro-grooves overlaid on the first micro-grooves, each of the second micro-grooves having an average depth greater than the average depth of the first micro-grooves. Some embodiments can also have a plurality of textured surface treatment regions superimposed on the overlaid first and second micro-grooves so as to at least partially intersect the micro-grooves.

Rotatable tool for forming by metal cutting a circular groove
A rotatable tool for producing a circular groove through metal cutting in a metal work piece and a method of forming the circular groove with the rotatable tool is disclosed. The rotatable tool includes a front end and a second end. The front end includes a first radially outer cutting edge and a second radially inner cutting edge, where the first radially outer cutting edge is located at a larger radial distance from the tool center axis than any other cutting edge of the rotatable tool, and where the second radially inner cutting edge is located at a smaller radial distance from the tool center axis than any other cutting edge of the rotatable tool.

Housing component having a flange with microstructure
A housing component includes a flange defining a center point and having an end face formed with microstructures in a first region and a second region to increase a local friction coefficient. The microstructures have each a blade shape with a cutting line, the cutting line in the first region being arranged concentrically about a first local center point, and the cutting line in the second region being arranged concentrically about a second local center point. The first and second local center points have different radial distances from the center point of the flange.
