Cutting insert with internal cooling, mold and method for manufacture thereof
A cutting insert is provided, comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, a plurality of side surfaces spanning therebetween, and a cutting edge formed at an intersection of the side surface and a forwardly-disposed portion of the top the surface. It further comprises a cooling cavity projecting into the insert, a top end thereof being disposed further forwardly than an open bottom end thereof. The cooling cavity defines at least one molding axis such that a solid element having the shape of the cooling cavity and completely inserted therein may be retracted intact therefrom along a linear path parallel to the molding axis. A circumscribing portion is formed on the side surfaces encircling the cutting insert. The circumscribing portion is formed parallel to the molding axis and has a non-zero height along its entire extent. The cutting insert does not extend beyond the circumscribing portion.

A cutting insert includes a first end surface and a second end surface, in which a first peripheral side surface includes a first rake surface adjacent to a first main cutting edge and a first concave surface connected to the second end surface and formed to be recessed from the first rake surface toward a central axis of a through hole, and the first concave surface has a first restraint surface provided at a position where a distance between the first restraint surface and a second main cutting edge is smaller than a distance between the central axis of the through hole and the second main cutting edge, when viewed from a direction parallel to the central axis of the through hole.
Cutting insert, cutting tool, and method of producing machined product
A cutting insert has an upper surface, a lower surface, a side surface connected to each of the upper surface and the lower surface, and a cutting edge having sequentially a corner cutting edge, a first straight cutting edge, a second straight cutting edge, and a third straight cutting edge, which are located along an intersection of the upper surface and the side surface and intersect one another at an obtuse angle. The upper surface has a first inclined surface extending along the first straight cutting edge, a second inclined surface extending along the second straight cutting edge, and a third inclined surface extending along the third straight cutting edge. An inclination angle of the second inclined surface with respect to the lower surface is larger than an inclination angle of each of the first inclined surface and the third inclined surface with respect to the lower surface.

Disposable chamfering blade
A disposable chamfering blade is provided with a mounting hole through which the disposable chamfering blade can be locked to a cutter body. One end of the disposable chamfering blade is provided with a conical cutter head whose conical periphery is circumferentially provided with a plurality of chip removing grooves. Each chip removing groove has a side face formed as a cutting edge such that the disposable chamfering blade is formed with a plurality of cutting edges for continuous cutting.
Cutting insert, cutting tool, and method of manufacturing machined product using the same
A cutting insert of an embodiment of the present invention includes an upper surface, a lower surface, a side surface connected to each of the upper surface and the lower surface, and an upper cutting edge located at an intersection of the upper surface and the side surface. The lower surface includes a mount part having alternately three first top portions spaced a distance a away from a central axis extending between the upper and lower surfaces and three second top portions spaced a distance b away from the central axis in a bottom view. The mount part further has a concave part including at least the central axis. The second top portions are located closer to the upper surface than the first top portions. A cutting tool with the cutting insert, and a method of manufacturing a machined product by using the cutting tool are also provided.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MILLING OF RAILROAD TRACK
A milling system for milling a track surface with at least one rotatable milling plate. A modular blade system for each milling plate allows individual blades to be removed and replaced when an individual blade becomes dull or broken. The blade system also allows the milling plates to be oriented in both Type 2 and Type 3 configurations depending upon track surroundings and the presence of encumbrance. The milling plates can be mounted to a positioning assembly for adjusting the relative distance between the milling plate and the track surface as well as the angle at which the milling plate engages the track surface. The milling system can include a depth guide so as to physically prevent the milling plate from cutting too deeply into the track surface.

TOOL FOR CHIP REMOVING MACHINING AND A CUTTING INSERT
A tool and a cutting insert for chip removing machining includes a tool body with an insert seat, a cutting insert mounted in the insert seat, and a fastening member. The cutting insert includes a first locking member extending in an area located outside of a central axis of the cutting insert. A second locking member configured to engage with the first locking member is provided in the insert seat. The fastening member extends through a through-hole and bears on a lower contact region of the cutting insert to press the cutting insert against a top support member provided rotationally ahead of the insert seat so that the second and first locking members lock with each other and form a radial support for the cutting insert, and on the other hand it presses an axial support region in the side surface of the cutting insert against an axial contact surface provided in the insert seat.
Cutting insert
The objective of the present invention is to provide a cutting insert which reduces cutting load and can be accurately positioned at a coupling part of a cutting tool even if cutting edges are broken or deformed. To this end, the cutting insert of the present invention includes an upper surface, a lower surface, a plurality of lateral surfaces connecting the upper surface with the lower surface, and a plurality of upper cutting edges formed between the plurality of lateral surfaces and the upper surface. In addition, the cutting insert coupled with the coupling part of the cutting tool includes: first and second upper cutting load reducing portions formed on the upper surface and provided at each side coming in contact with first and second upper cutting edges of the plurality of upper cutting edges facing each other so as to reduce the cutting load; and a one side position setting portion provided on a first lateral surface of the plurality of lateral surfaces not coming in contact with the first and second upper cutting edges so as to set the position of the cutting insert in the coupling part.
