The cutting portion includes an internal cavity disposed within the fluted section and open to a cutting end. Each tooth includes a front side surface, an exterior side surface, an interior side surface, and an axial end surface. The front side surface intersects with the axial end surface to form an axial end cutting edge that extends radially between an outer radial tip and an inner radial tip, and the outer radial tip is disposed axially outside of the inner radial tip.
ROTARY CUTTING TOOL INSERT
A rotary cutting tool cutting insert is provided that includes front, aft, exterior, and interior side surfaces, an axial end surface, and a base surface. The exterior side surface intersects with the front side surface. The interior side surface intersects with the front side surface. The axial end side surface intersects with the front side surface at an axial end cutting edge, with the exterior side surface at a first outer axial edge, and with the interior side surface at a second outer axial edge. The base surface intersects the front, exterior, and interior side surfaces and the aft surface. The base surface intersects the front side surface at an inner edge. An outer radial tip is disposed at a first heightwise distance from an inner edge, and an inner radial tip is disposed at a second heightwise distance from the inner edge.
CUTTING INSERT AND CUTTING TOOL ASSEMBLY INCLUDING SAME
A cutting insert includes: an upper face including a virtual reference surface and an upper inclined surface extending to be inclined upward from the virtual reference surface; a lower face disposed below the upper face and including a lower inclined surface extending to be inclined with respect to the virtual reference surface; and a plurality of side faces connecting the upper face and the lower face. An insert bore is formed to penetrate through the upper face and the lower face along a central axis perpendicular to the virtual reference surface. A major cutting edge is formed at an edge at which the upper inclined surface meets any one side face among the plurality of side faces. A first angle between the side face, on which the major cutting edge is formed, and the upper inclined surface is greater than a second angle between the central axis and the lower inclined surface.
THREAD MILLING TOOL AND THREAD MILLING INSERT
A thread milling tool includes a tool body with at least one pair of insert seats including of a first insert seat and a second insert seat, which are angularly and axially offset from each other, and several double-sided thread milling inserts. Each thread milling inserts is adapted to the first and second insert seats such that it is mountable in the first insert seat in one single working position with a first group of cutting edges on a first side of the thread milling insert in an active cutting position, and mountable in the second insert seat in one single working position with a second group of cutting edges on an opposite second side of the thread milling insert in an active cutting position. A thread milling insert suitable for use in such a thread milling tool is also provided.
Cutting insert
The cutting edge has: a corner cutting edge; a flat cutting edge continuous to a first end portion of the corner cutting edge; and a main cutting edge continuous to a second end portion of the corner cutting edge opposite to the first end portion of the corner cutting edge. The rake face has: a first rising surface portion; and a first rake face portion continuous to the first rising surface portion and located opposite to the corner cutting edge when viewed from the first rising surface portion. When viewed in a direction perpendicular to the reference surface, the first boundary includes a first line segment extending, from one of the flat cutting edge and the corner cutting edge, in a direction crossing a straight line extending along the main cutting edge.
CUTTING INSERT, CUTTING TOOL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MACHINED PRODUCT
A cutting insert may include a base body, a first part and a second part. The base body may include a first surface, a second surface, a first lateral surface, a second lateral surface, a first recess and a second recess. The first part may be located in the first recess. The second part may be located in the second recess. The first recess may include a first bottom surface, a first wall surface and a first valley line located on an intersection of the first bottom surface and the first wall surface. The second recess may include a second bottom surface, a second wall surface and a second valley line located on an intersection of the second bottom surface and the second wall surface. The first valley line may intersect with the second valley line in a perspective view of the first surface.
Cutting insert and milling tool
A second distance is longer than a first distance and a value obtained by dividing the third distance by the fourth distance is more than or equal to 0.5 and less than or equal to 0.8 when it is assumed that the first distance represents a distance between the cutting edge and the mounting surface in a direction perpendicular to the rake face, the second distance represents a distance between the mounting surface and a boundary portion between the rising portion and the flat portion in the direction perpendicular to the rake face, the third distance represents a distance between the boundary portion and a tip of the cutting edge in a direction parallel to the rake face, and the fourth distance represents a distance between the second discharging opening portion and the tip of the cutting edge in the direction parallel to the rake face.
CUTTING INSERT AND CUTTING TOOL
A cutting insert includes a main body including a first face, a second face, and a third face. The second face includes a rake face. Among the outer-peripheral sides of the second face, the boundary portion with the first face is a main cutting edge. When viewed from the side where the first face is disposed, the main cutting edge includes a first straight portion, a second straight portion, and a curved portion. The first straight portion is located adjacent to a reference side. The second straight portion is arranged at a distance from the first straight portion. The curved portion connects the first straight portion and the second straight portion.
